If you're part of the economy, you're subject to any changes to it, both negative and positive. The immediate outlook of the blinker nerf is pretty negative. Saying that you're going to hold on to your gil for now implies some sort of change in your normal activities.

SE however did not intend for players to enter the start of the zone and sit there for 5-10 hours trading blinkers.

Did SE ever give away what they intended Ninja to be anyways? The playerbase chose to use Ninja in that way and SE rolled with it (sort of). On top of that i don't think you can really compare various methods for your gil-income, specifically this one, to a job that had no clear purpose as a tanking class anyways but people ran with it. I could be wrong though...

Ninja was initially envisioned as a puller / light skirmisher job that functioned very similar to the AI of ninja monsters.
You'd pull using utsusemi as a complement to your evasion and your debuffs to bring the monster in feeb'd. Throwing for some ranged damage coupled with your katana damage and magic where physical prowess fails and you have a
balanced
job capable of doing many things. Then the job launched.

I swear I'm not arguing to argue but hey.. there are plenty of us out here that used cruor as a way to stay away from dyna when we wanted money. :x
I was only lazy enough to not level a craft or dyna, not to use a bot for cruor. ;-; lol

Not everyone can just readily fish up Haks like they were able to turn on a bot on a Lv.30+ job to conver cruor.
I still think Hakuryu should be nerfed though, it doesn't even make sense why they put it in beau when the other 3 went into time restricted zones.
Can we at least get chocobo blinkers on the most viewed item list? Kind of a 'pour some on the block for my homies' moment?

Ok, so SE gave the players the ability to buy chocobo blinkers with cruor, you had the option to sell them for gil, or to finish the quest them.
If they didn't want people to sell them for gil, they could have just made them not NPC when they made them.
