We will soon be launching the third iteration of the "Strange Happenings in Vana'diel" event, which commemorates the Echoes of Vana'diel crossover content between FINAL FANTASY XI and FINAL FANTASY XIV.

Out of nowhere, giant monsters have appeared in places where they most definitely do not belong. These unexpected visitors have the potential to throw the surrounding areas into utter chaos. Therefore, we are calling upon all available adventurers to help investigate this incident and defeat the invaders!

Additionally, it's rumored that the monsters may drop rather unusual materials when defeated. These materials can be used to significantly upgrade the equipment for each race, as well as craft weapons modeled after those wielded by Gulool Ja Ja.

There have been countless items added to the game over the years, including some that were available via limited-time events that are not scheduled to return or otherwise only featured limited chances to acquire them. Therefore, we have decided to introduce this special opportunity on a trial basis to either make these items available again or provide an easier, limited-time method to obtain them.

The eligible items this time are the Travesty, Demonic Axe, Shadow Lord statue, and Shadow Lord shirt. Travesty is a relatively new weapon that offers performance perfectly suited to a wide range of adventurers, and is also able to frequently unleash weapon skills.

This is also your chance to get your hands on the Demonic Axe that was available as a completion reward for Vana'Bout, and the Shadow Lord statue and Shadow Lord shirt based on the infamous Shadow Lord himself!

In celebration of the third installment of Echoes of Vana'diel (Windurst: The Third Walk) being added to FINAL FANTASY XIV as part of Patch 7.5, FFXI is also introducing various events to help mark this special occasion.

Of those events, we will soon be launching the second session of the event known as The Shadow Lord's Dominion.

In conjunction with the event's return, the Shadow Lord has prepared an all-new reward, Travesty, as he awaits your challenge. In addition to the Regain status effect, it occasionally prevents TP consumption when using weapon skills, making this weapon highly versatile in combat. So, make sure to check it out when you have the time!

Note: The Travesty item has been left with the Curator Moogle. Once the event has started, make sure to check the items needed for the trade.

Furthermore, there are some additional Shadow Lord-themed items making their return as well.

* Since you'll need to increase your level and complete missions in order to take on the ★Rank 5 Mission, we're offering it on three separate occasions (one time each in August, September, and October) so that as many adventurers as possible can enjoy the content.

Please note that there will be no changes to the spoils you can earn from the battlefield on these three occasions.
If it's hard for you to complete the mission during this month, hopefully you'll be able to take advantage of the third and final opportunity next month.

This ★Rank 5 Mission can be attempted by up to six players. Whether you're working together with your fellow linkshell members or taking advantage of this unique opportunity to team up with other adventurers, we hope that everyone is able to enjoy the content that we have prepared. To that end, we also plan to add new items to each event session that can be obtained from the Curator Moogle.

In recognition of everyone's accomplishment, we are adding a new Phantom Gem Campaign that will help you take on high-tier mission battlefields and high-tier avatar battlefields.

Once per day, you may obtain a phantom gem (*) of your choice from the specified Phantom Gems Boxes during the campaign period.

This is an excellent opportunity to take on the various powerful foes that await you within the high-tier mission battlefields.

* Phantom gems are key items needed to enter high-tier mission battlefields and high-tier avatar battlefields. There are phantom gems that correspond to both types of battlefields (e.g. pentacide perpetrator phantom gem / avatar phantom gem).
* Ode of Life Bestowing phantom gem is excluded from this campaign.

It's that time of year again, as the Blazing Buffaloes event stampedes its way into Vana'diel for a limited time only!

The Mog House Management Union has secretly launched a new enterprise, calling it the Buffalo Bonanza Ranch! Capture the wild buffaloes that were raised in the snow-capped mountains and raise them to be kind and gentle in order to help line the moogles' pockets! Or at least that was the plan, until everything went amiss...

Also, collecting bovine brands and giving them to the moogle lets you earn up to one #FES dial key per Earth day that can be used with the Gobbie Mystery Box. The #FES dial key allows you to use the Festival Dial, which contains spoils from content such as high-tier mission battlefields and high-tier avatar battlefields.

As part of the third round of updates to the Trust magic system, the September version update will increase the number of alter ego points that can be assigned to each category from 50 points to 60 points. We are also preparing even more Trust magic upgrades, so please keep an eye out for additional details to come.

We will also be raising the character level cap for the Free Trial version from Level 50 to Level 75 with this update.
