Which job aren't used for anything? I just wrote a novel to explain almost every job has a use in game.

SMN is OP, but it cant zerg dyna boss because of mechanics.

Geo bubbles are nerfed in master trials and some ambu.

RNG is used in PW2 fight.

BLU is used in some ambu and MT.

BLM is used on kei, some ambu, one MT... etc.

Rdm is used in ambu, mt etc...

That's literally 6 jobs, one of which can do almost anything in the game with very few exceptions with almost no danger or chance of failure when setup and executed properly. It's a far cry from the

And pointing to one or two uses for jobs, some of which require you make REMA weapons for them to perform well is a ridiculous standard if we are talking about a professional,

What's your go-to content for MNK and BST I wonder?

This is also utterly beside the point to begin with. The VAST majority of content is preferred to be done by less than half of the jobs in the game. (SMN WAR PLD COR GEO WHM SMN RUN BRD gets you through basically all of the content in the game, with only a few specific exceptions)

I'm NOT saying these jobs are useless, but they are objectively less used than other jobs, and when they ARE used, it's usually because of a gimmick.

MNK (which you could argue there is no good use for)

PUP (Which is relegated mostly to tanking, but not in situations where hate is a consistent problem)

BST (Which has some uses but is usually beaten out by any number of jobs for each task that it is any good at)

SCH (Which is primarily used for either Skillchains for MB (in an era where MB meta is dead) or is used to circumvent some kind of DOT.

DRG (Which is mostly competent, and shines in mid-to-low buff scenarios, but can easily be replaced by something else)

NIN

RNG (Which is much better now, but is still somewhat situational, and requires you building the group around it for strategies, requiring everyone in the group to have something to go along with the strat)

BLM (In an era where MB is only used for a handful of NM's, or using manawall for some gimmick)

Are you starting to see a pattern here? What part of this looks like balance to you?

The bottom line is, if they intend to balance everything out with content variety, we need more content variety. That itself is problematic in a game where gear requirements are so much higher than virtually any other similar game, because it would absolutely require you to have multiple endgame geared jobs, making the game even less accessible to a decent portion of it's players who are struggling already with getting left behind.

If we are to balance it through utility, however, we need to be OK with the fact that jobs will become less niche, and strategies a bit less varied.

We have to pick one, but we don't get to *** that "scrubs are scrubs and need to stop being such scrubs" AND say that the game needs more varied mechanics that require multiple different JOBS instead of just different strategies.

You are equating your ability to make a job work in a situation as being the same as if it was actually balanced. It IS a logical fallacy, a formal one. It's called equivocation.

Also as a final gem you also give me:

Yeah, as if other peoples forum opinion on balance is any better.... such as blu parse as much as war drk sam = balance. At no way that makes any logical sense at all. THAT is logical fallacy.

Thing is, this is inaccurate to begin with. In attack capped situations, WAR and DRK were not incapable of beating a BLU back then, Smite raised their attack and attack caps out with enough buffs anyway. (After all if smite were the determining factor, RUN doesn't get smite, and still manages to do damage just fine with enough buffs.)

The AGI nerf made a much bigger difference, in truth. This is beside the fact that THF and DNC were better than BLU pretty much handedly at that time.

You saw BLU everywhere back then because it was efficient and easy, not because it was necessarily "the best". It's versatility allowed people to carry some weight for the rest of their party, rather than having to rely (even morso back then) on their party to buff them up so they could be useful.

In truth, SE is going to do what SE wants to do and we're all better off for the most part. Frequent significant changes to MMOs destroys them and their subsequent fan following. This game is still under a subscription fifteen years after launching. The people that stayed around did so because they don't ruin this game on a monthly basis the way every other developer in the world currently does. Enix loves that *** paycheck.

They know they'll drive away their remaining subscribers if they try to run XI like it's XIV.

In fact, the only thing they've done right as a company in the last fifteen years is continue to balance this game around the bunch of pissy 30-somethings that only play this game. That's their market here. They're not trying to sell this to every HELP I AM TRAPPED IN 2006 PLEASE SEND A TIME MACHINE twelve year old with their mom's credit card.
And we're all better off for the most part.

To claim that the only difference between this game and XIV is job balance is beyond laughable.

I think they should do vagary V2 for emp +2/3
It's more about updating the systems that are already in place to promote game longevity with the least effort possible.
The .dat gaps are there for most of this content to just be cut, pasted, and edited into place in minutes. They're not killing themselves over any of this.

If the Abyssea update goes over well and enough time passes between content updates:
There's plenty of room in Adoulin content for updates, master trials, merit fights, possible VNM paths, and Vagay V2.

Protip: As long as Square keeps dragging in roughly ~$750,000± a month on this game alone;
You can count on them to continue releasing updates, the same way that you can count on everyone from Asura being a screeching retard with a keyboard.

Ah, and it seems we've arrived at my point, ladies and gentlemen.

If you're a game developer, you're automatically a saint who can do no wrong.

If you're a consumer however, don't you DARE give your opinion on what you would do to the product that they are gracefully allowing you to buy from them!

It's amusing that you would increase the size of that quote. It's true. If you don't understand why it's true, I don't even know how to help you.

80% of the activity in the threads on this site (that is not either bitching or trolling) is discussion about what gear is best in slot for each possible application, and how to most effectively leverage all of your gear sets in game either via macros, Ashitacast or Gearswap. That is a decidedly different game design than FFXIV.

Oh look at that, someone on FFXIAH shuts down and acts like a troll rather than even attempting to respond? Must be a day that ends with a Y.

People that worked 15+ games know better than run their face.
Consumers are you that complain and have no clue.
Fix it ^

There's something hilarious about someone starting ***, reporting all responses and deleting their own posts as if a mod won't be able to see them. You just earned a one month vacation for that giggle. Enjoy.
