Just curious to what people think Aegis 95 will have since the update is in 2 days. -95% MDT, Higher block rate, Increases Shield Bash 5, etc. Discuss!
I speculate that WHM will be able to equipt it.

The other 50% is the normal magic cap >_>. The 45% is independent of the MDT on Aegis.

I didn't think even with aegis you could go over the 50% cap. My bad, that is broken.

I see it staying at 90%,just easier to hit 90%.Same way aegis was when the cap was 50% but we were still level 90.Dont think they'll raise the block rate because they have already said they want Aegis to be for magical and Ochain to be for physical.Unless maybe they ungimp the shield skill requirement only so that it blocks up to 65% of the time,like aegis can do (mob/skill/gear dependant of course) but to bring it up to Ochain levels of blocking is just silly

Would be cool but, doubtful. If you want higher block rate build an Ochain could honestly finish souls in a week if you really push it, for Tier 4 VW Aegis is superior to Ochain already anyways, the ability to take -90% magical damage is already pretty godly.
SE said they wanted to keep Ochain (High Block Rate)/ Aegis (No Magic Damage Taken) as their own things.

Was added recently,when the first several Ochains were finished the Aegis community was in uproar so SE did something.That something being letting you break the 50% MDT cap if you had aegis equipped.Same way they let you break the 50% PDT cap with burtgang equipped now too.

They are in Voidwatch, and that seems to be the direction the game is going, all the new content coming this update is Voidwatch related as well.
Has anyone tested if its a direct +40% mdt to cap and not +40% after the cap because theres a difference.
With one, you would have 90%-mdt, with the other you would have 50%mdt and then have a 40% reduction of the next 50% which in turn would grant you a total of 70% mdt. I think Neo stated it might cap at 87.6% or somewhere around those lines.
Either way im thinking of swapping currency around from my apoc and just doing Aegis. If I do VW im generally on pld anyhow.

Not 100% sure if this is will answer what you're asking,but I'll give you an example.
From what I've read in threads it works like this.As long as you have Aegis equipped,how you make up the % doesnt matter.Aegis simply acts as the "50% cap remover" (and obviously some more % MDT)
I read tests somewhere that said even with level 75 Aegis (25% MDT) and shell 5,you can still hit 90% if you make up the gear elsewhere.Now,I dont know how much % you could get on other gear elsewhere,but the principle is still the same.

i was under the impression that the cap w/ aegis was 87.5 as well.
reguardless its still a pretty nice boost, and it gives aegis owners a reason to still wear it, instead of feeling like they wasted 150m+.

I find that hard to believe, and haven't seen any strange low numbers than those expected with Aegis 80.

Honestly Ive never been killed on pld on a TP move, its generally always been the following melee/DA thats been my demise because a mage was too slow to react, which pushes me more toward the Ochain field. Although I can see it another angle had I taken minimal damage from a tp move, I wouldnt have to worry about taking a few non-blocked melee hits so thats points for the aegis field aswell.
Maybe theyll give us more PW/AV stat mobs in the game again...
