@ Aggro if you do nothing it will summon adds every "set time?" (haven't timed it)
But if you drop its hp (99% 90% 80% 70% 60% give or take) it summons the next wave immediately.

@ Aggro if you do nothing it will summon adds every "set time?" (haven't timed it) But if you drop its hp (99% 90% 80% 70% 60% give or take) it summons the next wave immediately. Based on our observation and since our order was to kill BLMs,Sabotender first then move to Consul, it was every 30s..
We only Zerged after Sabotender and BLMs were dead. And Japanese Wiki said the same thing about timers. Leave your insecurities outside this and move on. I can also confirm that it summons much faster than every 30 seconds if killing quickly. If doing a SMN zerg, where it's dead less than 30 seconds after pull, it still has like 12 adds out when it dies.

Haven't experimented enough with the new one but I have all reasons to believe the Consul's behaviour is exactely the same. So, cactus never repops, don't ask how I know... /panic

I mean you might have had a point... if you hadn't dismissed non 30 seconds entirely against several testimonies to the point of even accusing someone of photo shopping proof. It's a little too late to take the higher ground

So something interesting was just messing around this time very very slowly killing cactuar while trusts tank. Took about 2 minutes between first and second add and about another minute for 3rd

So looks like JP Wiki isn't as accurate as you may have thought. Cause i too have seen it spawn 2~3 sets of adds in the 15 seconds it takes to kill. Remember just because it's written in Japanese doesn't mean it's 100% accurate. I assumed that was a normal mechanic, but now you're making me wonder it was a one time bug or something... Never seen that happen in the new version of course. It always tries to call every wave, whether it succeeds or not. Unless you kill it before it can try. Which would be pretty hard. (smns) I could see it repopping, if; You kill cactus, and only took 20% off the Boss, after a set amount of time it could respawn since it never fully popped(or tried to and failed to pop) all it's waves. but, it would have to be incredibly slow for that to happen. Clearlyamule said he held the boss until 10 seconds left and no Cactuar repop.
So either there's many conditions to fulfill for cactuar to repop or what happened to that PUG group I was in many months ago was just a bug or whatever else. Either way, even if he can repop, it seems to be very rare so I wouldn't worry about it really. Well, he, like I, got the boss low enough to pop all the waves (I'm assuming) held it at say, 5% then killed it with 10 seconds left.
If you killed cactus, never hurt the boss, and held it @ 100% in theory, thats how you respawn it. You would have to meet a very specific set of conditions though; Kill cactus fast enough to only pop 1~4 waves (less than 2 minutes) Fail to damage boss beyond 70%~ in (10?) minutes Cactus will respawn (all theory) Offline
Might only do it at higher hps? I took a decent chunk off quickly then slowly wittled it down with autos I wouldn't let ws lol
