Fun never been a part of FFXI.
It's all about getting great gear so you can AFK in jeuno etc !
You can't really be caught dead in jeuno without at least 3 mythic weapons 4 relics and an Ergon weapon.

Anyways merc groups have been around for ages. It is so you can acquire the items you want so you have more time to afk...really that is the point.
I mean when you get everything you want what else is there to do ?

I'd like to end this post by sharing a story. There is an individual who has been shouting the past ~5 days, on average for 3-5 hours a day, for someone to merc him a Lathi.
This sounds like a sad state of affairs, that someone on one of the more populated servers is having this much trouble finding help - paid help, at that - obtaining an item that isn't all that rare. Where have all the good people gone? ;)

Any mercs left on Bis hit me up plz. Pretty much all friends have quit or moved to Asura lol. Still some small things I need done with some BCNM fights to finish some story lines. Been super close but I am getting tired of spending time on them.

That is pretty sad, considering I got mine with the help of Trusts. Sch. Merc for yourself. Do work.

The issue isnt finding mercs for an item, its the buyer wanting to pay like nothing for said item. For lathi, you should expect to pay 5-10m. Not because its a particularly hard nm, its the time invested + costs of pops. Remember this people: nothing in life is going to be handed to you so if u want something nice and cant do it alone or find help, expect to pay an arm and a leg for it.

The lathi story is a bit baffling though. That NM is decidedly not difficult. I can understanding the pricing on it b/c it's very useful but it seems like the player in question could put together their own group if they're unwilling to pay 5 mil for a merc.

The pop is a time sink to get and not many groups on this sever can kill Av so unless your offer 100mill + not worth the time sink
