Would also try it but they don't exist in my part of Ohio.

It all depends on how you can deal with its taste, I personally like it, but I know a lot of people who can't stand it. Ginger makes me gag too much lol. Ginger Ale, chewing ginger, juicing it and trying it that way... nope. It's awful and I hate it lol Bahamut.Baconwrap said: » Sylph.Tigerwoods said: » If you want more meat and better ingredients try Qdoba Mexican Grill. They are a chain competitor of Chipotle and 10x better in quality and taste. They have options of brown rice, whole-wheat tortillas, and have variations to their menu on a daily basis. Also I find their prices to be a bit more economical. They also serve breakfast burritos with the option of egg-white. They are basically Chipotle but with a healthier and larger menu. Chipotle is closer to our house by like 30 minutes, but seeing the Qdoba website makes me want to go there instead because holy ***, food porn. Kimble2013 said: » I already brought up Qdoba! (although I did spell it wrong lol) Just skimmed through the thread my bad :p Qdoba is a fairly new company and they target Chipotle in my area with no prisoners. So I expect them to start popping up nationwide. They have been building their stores on the same block of Chipotle in Los Angeles. A burrito with chips and drink will run me 12 bucks at Chipotle. Same meal at Qdoba will run me 6-7 bucks. This guide is pretty legit, I give it a dan ouda daaaan
I like the Chipotle salsas better than Qdoba's. I rarely eat at either anymore since big lunches make me sleepy. If I have a burrito bowl in the middle of the day, I get nothing done...

If I have a burrito bowl in the middle of the day, I get nothing done... I don't eat salsa though :/ Salsa at chipotle and any chain restaurant is loaded with sodium beyond belief as a preservative. I eat 2000-2500 calories daily so I try to watch my sodium intake. Creatine + excess sodium = you'll look like a blow fish!!! EDIT: If I must have some extra taste or kick to my burritos I'll usually add lemon juice or Chalula hot sauce. Chalula is by far one of the healthiest and low sodium hot sauces. I'm pretty sure you can keep asking for more tortillas, btw. Not sure if it was mentioned. Got a friend who schooled me on Chipotle Strategy and mass tortillas was one of his techniques.
Reasons to go to Qdoba:
1) You really like Queso 2) Slightly cheaper (depending on what you get) 3) You want barbeque sauce on your pork burrito (seriously, why the hell does Chipotle not have this?) 4) If it happens to be closer to where you live Personally I'm not a huge queso person (actually, despite what I said about cheese, I'm not really a big cheese person either) and I find their ingrediants and taste to be a small step down from Chipotle (if I remember right, I mostly based my preference on the way Chipotle seasons their rice and meat). Got a friend who schooled me on Chipotle Strategy and mass tortillas was one of his techniques. Again though I'm counting calories, so 290 on an extra tortilla just isn't worth it for me. One is enough. I still have an extra tortilla in my mini fridge from over a week ago, never got around to using it, even with my home made stuff because it just seemed like too much to be worth it. I tried to make Chipotle rice at home but its never right. Tastes fine but meh. It's like this time one of my friend's mom made homemade Oreos and she was like "See they taste just like Oreos dont they?"
"Yeah... no" When I think of homemade oreos, I think of the Oreo machine in futurama.

Are you countingh your carb and protein also? I eyeball my calories and protein but I'm kinda bad with carb counting. I do 140-150ish grams of protein on my on-days. But I've found myself kinda neglecting my carb intake and only getting like 40g of carbs. Not really counting, but I feel like I'm getting enough. I'll usually have a cup of rice (it's a cup uncooked, a lot more after you cook it) (4 servings) and an entire can of black beans or kidney beans (which is 3.5 servings)
I went to chipolte for the first time last week. Place has some pretty good quality stuff, aside from that they don't have spinach(at this location anyway) ; ; Lettuce sucks.
Great guide, definitely inspired me to up my Chipotle game. A few quick questions:
Is it more important to build for fRICE or would a dBEAN build be worth considering on targets with low SALSA? Does the tortilla at the bottom of the bowl absorb too much liquid? I'm worried the bean liquid and salsa liquid will be multiplicative, could mean tortilla saturation would hit cap before burrito attack phase. You also left out several important pieces of gear, should add section on napkins, green Tabasco sauce, and limes. I almost never use napkins unless I'm eating something really messy (and even then, I just wait till I'm finished and just wash my hands at the end).
Usually not an issue with the tortilla absorbing too much liquid unless you get stabby with the fork. Be careful how you angle the thing, but, you can ask for a second tortilla (I recommend on the side, so it doesn't take up space in the bowl) for back up if you feel you need it. I use Sriracha, so no Tabasco for me :) Sylph.Tigerwoods said: » Bismarck.Hsieh said: » Nice strat on getting more for your burrito. Do you actually burn off 3000 calories a day? I don't recommend fasting. Better to eat in portions. Sunday is pretty much the only day I'm completely inactive. (Vs Thursday, where I do the most amount of biking I'll do on a single day in the week, go to the gym, and run the obstacle course) As far as fasting goes, was asked about it in a PM earlier as well. I'm at the same activity level as I was before and I've only been counting calories for 2 weeks. Other than that I ate w/e I wanted whenever I wanted. Only change I made was eating within a window rather than whenever I wanted, but still ate whatever I wanted. September(started fasting September 1st) on the left, January on the rightWent from 175ish to 152, and not only haven't I lost any strength, all my lifts have actually gone up, so losing muscle wasn't/isn't a concern It's been working for me, so I'm going to stick with it. If it's not broke don't fix it. Can't wait to see what comes next, now that I'm actually counting calories and watching what I eat, cutting back on candy, sweets, and empty calories. I wish i can find the motivation/courage and endurance to workout like that.
get all nervous when I think about going to the rec center to work out It's never been about motivation for me, but I'm one of the only people I've heard say that. It's simply fun. If I thought going to the gym was boring, I probably would have done just enough work to not be fat and stopped there, and adjusted diet accordingly so I could maintain weight w/o having to workout anymore lol
I prefer Freebirds but same technique can definitely still apply!
Nice work, mate. Lol I got to the point to I was like "oh hey, now I'm full, so I'm gonna stop"(though to be fair I did eat 1.5-2k calories right before he came and picked me up), but Ghaleon was like "if you don't finish, I'm tellin EVERYBODY and next time you're in line, I'm gonna tell them don't give him all that food he doesn't even finish it"
lol *** him His bowl is in the front by the way. ![]() lol when I posted on bg and the first response was Quote: chipotle off of 19, regal cinemas to the right off camera Sylph.Tigerwoods said: » Lol I got to the point to I was like "oh hey, now I'm full, so I'm gonna stop"(though to be fair I did eat 1.5-2k calories right before he came and picked me up), but Ghaleon was like "if you don't finish, I'm tellin EVERYBODY and next time you're in line, I'm gonna tell them don't give him all that food he doesn't even finish it" lol *** him His bowl is in the front by the way. ![]() Dude... I love that shirt! tried this. the chipotle near me told me they would charge me extra for anything more than their normal portion sizes of rice, meat, salsa, and beans. cheap ***
I'd have done a 360 and walked away. Have done it at 2 diff locations now between several different employees.
I gotta find me a chipoltes near me and try this ***lol.
So I read this forum when you first posted it and thought it was awesome. I even posted it on my facebook, lol.
Anyways, I went to Chipotle tonight to try this out and it worked for the most part. I asked for my meat on the side and they put it in 1 (only 1) of those little plastic cups they put Guac in. I feel I got screwed on the meat. =( Otherwise, "Great success!!" Just gotta look at the portion, not the container, really (I had double meat, which is why it looked like a lot more)
A full sized singular scoop is what they give you. I got 2 scoops for mine. As long as they didn't give you half a scoop or something and put it in the guac container, then you didn't get screwed. If so, then probably better to just let them put it in the burrito at your place. Glad it worked out for you though :D. How was your superior amount of food? |
