How much work does everyone think this is going to take?

All they are doing is adding a layer behind the icon, then formatting it for xbox, ps2, and pc. That's it. I'm sure their image program makes a copy for each console anyways. It's not like they are redesigning the icon completely. It's just a layer.

Wasting resources? Manpower? You think the time they spent doing this could equal a complete update? This is a very small minor update that they feel was worth spending the time doing for players who would like it. If you don't like the border and if you play PC then back up your icons now and replace them after the update. Simple.

The things people complain about... and I'm actually complaining about the complaining. -.-

Its not so much about the effort they have to put in to do something like this. Its more of SE having to step in and make adjustments for stupid people. A great man once said that "You cant fix stupid" so why even try.

We all know that whenever new content is released that there are bugs and problems. Mayb they should spend more time fine-tuning to where there are less bugs instead of doing the currency

Seriously?

Just stop posting.

Someone will be spared the mistake you made, your mother still loves you, and the sun will STILL come up tomorrow.

They are responding to player requests. That is the point.

I would much rather they step in and make an adjustment to help players than ignore them completely.

So, if I'm getting this right, people complained that unscrupulous players were intentionally gaming the system to attempt to defraud other players, and people think those sellers should be able to deliberately defraud other players because the players who are being hoodwinked are stupid?

Please tell me you people are too young to vote.

should just make Dynamis currency AHable. just sayin
But then there would be nothing to bazaar while afk'n in PJ for hours. I mean, I suppose we could just not afk in PJ for hours...

As far as the OP goes, I think I just don't care either way. I've almost fell for it a couple times "oh ***! gotta buy these cheap hundreds quick before the next guy." In the end I always double check though. If they burned me, I'd have to laugh it off considering how many people I've laughed at in "Player Warnings" and whatnot for getting got.

Color em, don't color em, rip people off, get ripped off, idk in the grand scheme of the game it seems very inconsequential to me.

Its what SE does best with XI. They pick the most useless things to change that players request and not something that actually matters. That way they can go "see, we listen to the players!"

I do encourage you to tell SE how insulted you feel by this change.

In fact, call a GM right now and use foul language, racial slurs, and condescension to inform them of how you feel you're being babied.

Isnt ignoring the players something that SE is good at? look at GMs they dont do jack ***. They will either send it to their "special task force" or give you some generic *** answer. The only thing i regret is that I wasnt smart enought to think of putting overpriced currency in my bazaar like everyone else.

exploit is still exploit. SE prolly got tired of the GM calls over this. any thing that SE does to make this GAME a friendlier enviroment to the majority of the new player-base is solely for SE's benefit. happy customers = subscription increase = revenue = profit. basic business 101.

I had a friend get a week long bam for advertising (via shout) 100s while selling singles, they called it fraud. GMs zero'd his bank and banned him, I lol'd. So yeah, GMs do stuff. But bazaaring any item for any price is completely legal, just can't false advertise I guess.

I'm not saying they are listening to players, just responding to a request. They don't listen to us, because if they did then a lot of the major issues that people have gone to the OF's to make a topic about would have been addressed already.

I'm saying they are answering requests instead of completely ignoring us.

It was only a week long ban, and he had moved his gil over to his mule, so he only lost like a million... we did worse things in our time.

@ wulf and vic. I can respect both of the comments you guys made. its true that a friendly enviornment = profit and looking at it that way they should do something. and the fraud thing i can see how they got banned but were talking about people overpricing currency and people stupidly buying it. All I am trying to say is learn to read and this problem will fix itself

There's no downside to this update unless you are trying to scam.

If you legitimately feel there is, you should let SE know. According to your beliefs, because it is inconsequential, they'll be sure to listen to your opinion and rectify this situation post-haste.

Should people pay attention to what they are buying @ what price in peoples bazzars? Of course. Should people intentionally jack the price up x100? No. These people are scum and on the level of gil sellers in my personal opinion.

They are intentionally ripping off or trying to rip off harder working players. The people who are siding with them are just as bad as them and are more then likely doing it themselves.

Very happy SE is doing this, I personally haven't had this happen to me or anyone I know but it's a shame. And I hope players still doing this get banned.

Well said. I agree.

yeah there really isn't a downside to this. I mean I can guess that JPs got tired of getting "ripped off" and whined a lot, and the whines were more numerous since a lot of people are making relics. Is it preventable user error when they get scammed yes, but that won't stop the whining. People will still bazaar singles for 100 prices tho, normally the JPs buy so fast they dont even look, so whats a blue box gonna do for em?

There will always be two sides to this, the people that dont care, and the people that QQ. You cant stop the sellers, so might as well just get over it and pay attention to what your buying.

You're not going to play gotcha with me. This is not the case where you're buying a car and the engine is defective or a house where there are termites. Everything that is pertinent regarding the purchase and sale that would form the basis for saying there was a meeting of the minds and thus a legal contract is right in front of you when it comes to the bazaar. The item may not be a 100 but the seller makes no representation that it is. They overpriced a currency in the opinion of others but it's still their right to try and make a sale of that item at that price. If the buyer can't read, is foolish, or greedily thinks they're getting a steal of a deal it's their fault.

Reading comprehension yo, it's fundamental!
There is a big difference between "overpricing an item" and "deliberately pricing an item at the price of a different item in an attempt to deceive a buyer."

But you prove a good point about honor, honesty or strength of character meaning nothing to some.

If you can't read and tell the difference between 1 and 100... and you still click the buy button, I don't know what even to say.

As for the jerks that set up the scam, I see it and think "oh you guys..." Seriously there are safeguards in place, the first being your god given intelligence and the second being the fact that you still have to hit buy and move the cursor off cancel.

There is no deception... so drop the claims about honor blah blah blah...

If I tried to sell a bum car and didn't tell people about the problems then yes that's fraud. Latent problems not obvious to the naked eye warrant disclosure.

In the case at hand we're dealing with a question of reading comprehension... can the potential buyer take a breath, read, tell the difference between 1 and 100 pre sale?

I don't care about the motivations of the buyer, they're jerks for doing it and karma will get them in the end. I just find it funny that SE had to act to prevent people from their own stupidity. What's next a similar scheme for the AH to refund people who overpay for the wrong item?
