Walked to Valkurm from Bastock. Got invited as soon as I zoned. Accepted the invitation right away because I couldn't believe my luck. Got D2 by a BLM troll who then disbanded. Took another 45 minutes to walk back to Valkurm.

Try to build party as a newbie in Jungles.
I think I remember where that camp was. Invite 2 people... I don't know where I'm going but we should get this started ASAP! Don't want to waste people's time. I think I remember where that camp was. Chocobo around for 45 minutes looking for the spot I vaguely recall. Wait which zone was it? There was a tree.. kind of a cave thingamig.. I don't remember where that camp was. There's just so much the old XI had that's lost now. Not all of it was good, mind you, but it's like a snapshot of history. Not sure how you convey some of our old armor and style options to newer players. At least the situation got better after Limbus and Salvage. Some of the styles have been used again, but the meaning was different in the old days. Every piece of gear was like some kind of war scar and even low level equipment sets were points of pride.

how about wearing lvl 30 gear til you got af, for some jobs. other jobs just wore 40ish gear til 75. but this is what the private servers are for, to a point. you get to reminisce, but the old players aren't there in droves like they used to be, to be able to create these stories in the first place.

For the longest time if Paralyze procced while you were using an item, it ate the item. I remember getting *** by this a few times, maybe during Promyvion?

Not having dispel as RDM going into a beetle party in Garlaige Citadel.
The leader of the party actually went back to Jeuno and bought me a scroll off of the AH, now that I remember.

Also first smnburn getting eaten for casting cure 1. Did not understand enmity.

Thief Looking For Party was the best. You could farm items and camp NM's worth valuable loot while waiting for Party. You pulled, stacked hate on Tank, did nasty damage to mobs weak to piercing (Bats in Garlaige and Birds in Bibiki). THF/RNG Camps like Leaping Lizzy, Valkurm Emperor, and Argus with your Widescan/Treasure Hunter/Flee made you feel like an Apex Predator.
But all that aside I appreciate the white mages. Teleports, sneak and invis to get me to my destination along with some cures to help me kill NM's i couldn't tackle on my own made them invaluable. My funnest experience was as a newly minted whm and my buddy Generalramuh power leveled me from 10-20 through the dunes. We had a 2nd power lvl show up and it was a slaughterfest with me capping my club skill and divine magic as WHM DD lolz.

OH man, I actually miss being level 75 RDM in Dunes, altruistically Power Leveling low level parties and taking care of Call For Help mobs and going around Raising those that were unlucky. GREAT TIMES. I wish I could do something similar in FFXIV.
