Being proud of your ancestry is fine. Using it to gain an unfair advantage is where it gets problematic.
Warren needs to be careful here. Think of what she could be unleashing. If being somewhere between 1/32 and 1/512 of something earns you minority benefits, suddenly a vast majority of the majority population is going to have have their hands in the precious entitlement pot.
I'm sure the optics will be great when Whitey McWhiterson is using his 1/512 African heritage to land a scholarship designed to help black kids.
