Seems to me that there are 3 wooden chest messages or so; important ones being the thud and thud!!! ones that indicate its added a an accessory or body (!!!) item to loot pool.

'Lots of spoils' message seems to give 2 maybe 3 lesser items; the new stone sacks, VW mats, HTBC pieces.

All tests were done at Horlais' BC.

tl;dr: Go til/if you get a thud message then bail if solo.

Assuming you meant the thud!!! meant loud thud, I just got an annointed kalasiris from a loud thud chest. I did get a loud thud on another character, but I got Chironic Gloves as a drop, so bodies aren't guaranteed.

Yeah its loud thud, not thud!!! (which was report I got from LS mate), sorta surprised you didn't get better from it though in both instances. Think my fundamental point still stands though, if you aren't in a state where you can beat the mimic, you may as well call it as soon as you get either thud message. I got Kyrene's Earring from the normal thud message.

Interesting sidenote regarding another LS report. The 5 mil bonus reward for opening the gold chest apparently goes to the opener, NOT the orb user.

So beware if you PUG it :D

Shin-Zantetsuken I think is the move that removes your Reraise but you keep your life, so you need 2 RR sources.

From the comments here, it just looks like you need to get the "loud thud" and just exit, because the other stuff is trash. Don't waste time trying to gamble for every little treasure. You're gonna be pissed if you had a chance at an Omen body but your greed consumed you and you opened one more...

What kind of player goes in to a new battlefield without Reraise? That's what I get from this update. How many types of RR do we have in this game? I see it way too often, Ambuscade .. Omen .. Dyna .. now AMAN, there's always someone important (like a whm) who thinks:

"Hmm yeah, will I need to cast Reraise on myself today?? Nah. I'm too lazy for that. Let's just go up against this deadly new mimic with no RR!! Someone else will raise me .."

Seriously? I'm glad SE introduced this mimic to get people to wake up and stop relying on others to raise them.
This whole post reeks of 'better-than-thou'. The truth is, reraise is more often than ever a negative in a strong group. If you are needed whilst weakened, you wait 10 seconds for reraise to pop up instead of 2.4 for a WHM to cast raise. If you are not needed whilst weakened, defaulting to a 5 minute weakness is even worse.

Sure, if no WHM is present and you are on a melee, it may be a good choice. But, it's far from the situation you describe where only a bad player would not have reraise up. I personally choose to cancel it after Arise quite frequently for the previously described reasons.

(It's also not a new mechanic, Odin uses the same sort of move in Black and White.)

It's not better than thou, it's called using common sense. If you know what to expect then you know if RR needs to be used or not. Not everyone in a group can wait for their WHM to Arise. It baffles me how anyone can try new content without telling everyone to RR up. You don't know what to expect, so expect the unexpected.

I received "You hear a loud thud" and "You hear a noise". Opened the gold chest for vexed slops, Akvan's pennon, and indi-wilt.

I went in with twilight locked, didn't matter having infinite RR you are not winning vs the mimic once you die if solo. The animator of getting up is way too long to survive the mimic's attacks. Its basic attack was doing around 350 while I was getting up. 1.5 attacks before you can actually start a cast or use a JA

It will probably be tomorrow morning. You should have gotten a propaganda email about it (we always get one after every update)

Are hex ID's constant each entry?

Then just remember mimic hex ID and avoid that box.

Just incase anyone reading through this was curious, the Hex ID was different on 3 different runs I was in for Mimic box.

Definitely agree with Kylos there. If Arise is up and WHM can cast it just cancel RR then get Arise. If WHM is busy cure bombing or prioritize Arise on other member then normal R is fine.

I am a COR so maybe my pov is a bit screwed with the fact that my DPS is not completely crippled during weakened with ranged attack, and often on the lowest priority list for Arise if more than one members die.

Why do you NEED to tell people to use food.
Why do you NEED to tell people to carry meds.
Why do you NEED to tell people they need DT sets.
Why do you NEED to remind people to check their KI when someone is missing theirs.

People, they're dumb.

I think this update is actually a hidden political statement from SE.

First off, there's the Soulflayer Ambu which is a fat hideous beast surrounded by sniveling Imps.

Then there's the chest content which is basically a Casino, which we all know how Atlantic city turned out.

Finally, there's Master Trials which is basically us grabbing Female chars by the ****** until they lose their constitutional rights they've fought so hard for.

Some initial testing on the new Orpheus's Sash:

Water V
No Belt: 13152
Eschan Stone: 13305
Orpheus (14' to max distance): 13278
Orpheus (13'): 13410
Orpheus (1.93' and below): 15120

Between 13' and 1.93' it adds roughly 130~ damage to the nuke for every 1' you move closer.

Hands-down strongest nuking belt in the game now.

I don't know the overall mab in gear but the jump from eschan stone to 1.93' is pretty big, so I'm guessing it's affinity after all.

Checked calculator really quick, for leaden salute, getting 15 affinity beats obi with 10% weather bonus, but not 20%.

We managed to kill 4 of them on our 4rth attempt (Arciela/Lilisette/Prishe/Nashmeira). We have no idea how to fight Lion yet.. she's um .......strange. Picks random target and attacks them until they die, ignores all things related to enmity. Also spams a full dispel move.. that has a stupid range 15 yalm range. Spams...like it uses it nonstop.

I was on RDM/NIN for reference. I don't have a good nuking Grio yet, so I'm using this set:

ItemSet 353576

"Merlinic Hood", augments='Mag. Acc.+25 "Mag.Atk.Bns."+25','Magic Damage +2','INT+2','Mag. Acc.+5','"Mag.Atk.Bns."+15'

"Sucellos's Cape", augments='INT+20','Mag. Acc+20 /Mag. Dmg.+20','INT+10','"Mag.Atk.Bns."+10'

Thank you very much.

It's already something I want for nuke reasons, but there have been more than a few mobs with auras that can be removed by specific elements. Swing while nuking \o/

Adds up to +15% to Enspell damage, as expected. I went from 102 to 117 per swing with Enhancing skill-boosted Enspells. I also tested with a weak Enspell to make sure it's not an absolute value bonus specifically for Enspells. By locking it at zero Enhancing+, it gave me 82 AE turning into 94 AE.
