I always warn people to not skillup in parts of/areas with actual content associated with them...but nobody listens to me cause other people do it there and they dont get caught! (One of my friends thought he got a tempban for skillbotting in aby-empyreal..turned out someone copied his IP and did HELP I AM TRAPPED IN 2006 PLEASE SEND A TIME MACHINE things.But now he definitely doesnt skill there anymore.)

TBH, they should just get on board and add a Mog House, Auction House + Delivery NPC, Vendors, and perhaps even a city-mission line for Beaucedine Glacierville.

What they should do is enact a tiered skill up system in campaign with increased skill rate. Have it so different regions cap at different skill levels. It would be somethings like outside citys is the lowest mid lands like Sau/pash/rolan and such be mid range then have outlands be high and strongholds/citys be cap. This would both ideally revive campaign and wings zones in general but also make skilling up somewhat fun.

I think SE chooses not to ban fishbots at this point because if they do, that's a chunk of their income gone. There are 60 people going in Beaucedine at any time of the day on Lakshmi, that's $780 a month they'd lose on just one server. ***wouldn't have made a difference back in the day when fishbots actually did get banned because they had so many subscriptions, but these days they'll take whatever they can get lol.

They have banned some fishbots recently, and they'll probably continue to do so. They won't mass ban them for the reason watusa said, but you're lying to yourself if you think nobody ever gets hit.

Wasn't the rmt fisher back then all running on trial accounts and that why they banned so much.

They do ban fishbot, and banning cheaters actully gives more income in the long run.....nobody want to play an MMO that cheaters gets an advantage, you'd lose more sub if you don't enforce your law.

I hope in XIV they have a near cheat proof method of ***,or that they actually have the ability (re:ps2 limitations) to actually determine and follow through on them.

Profit > Enforcing your terms of service on a dying game. At any time they could do just one sweep of Beaucedine on every server and get rid of everyone if they really gave a ***, but they haven't. I think they only really bother checking if someone's a *** and calls a GM on you.

Honestly,if you are AFK skilling without ionis in an adoulin area for the (insert duration of ionis) you arent really getting much done anyway...Ionis+magic skillup items + food = a shittun of skills in that (insert duration of ionis here) period.

The skill up process is stupidly unbalanced. I don't fault skill-up botters. Fishbotters or others who are screwing up the economy (and then acting like lolelitists) deserve to get banned and forced to wear a dunce cap.

It seems like people are getting the difference of fish botters and the RMT fish spam armys that there use to be. These RMT armys were what the mass monthly bannings and task force were all about. Also not to mention them inflating the game economy ridiculous levels. Anyone want a scorp harness for 5-10 mill?

on leviathan, for example, there are currently 6 owned by the same person fishing and that's all going straight to china
on quetz, there's someone with ~8
hakuryu go directly to gil, which increases the amount in circulation.. the current fishbotters are much more damaging than the old ones
the old school sole bots just sold to other players, the inflation back then was caused by an exploit where you could purchase barone from a npc in tavnazia and resell it for higher than the purchase price
if you want to take a realistic look at it, the only reason they aren't banned is because SE's acknowledged that the playerbase loves to rmt, loves to cheat, and those that will get pissed enough to leave over it have already done so: its just lowering their net subs to ban them
all they do is a periodic scare-ban or wave of such, rarely with any permanents, so they can pretend they're doing something about it to the starcade-type nutjobs that are left
