Not taking the comment PS2 sucks now its old as hell is not proof you are right its proof you an idiot who believes candles are better than light bulbs.

PS2 is old slow and limited - proof in fact it cant do a ton of ***and has now been replaced by ps3 and soon to be ps4......
i said he was probably right, just sick of people saying it. all i said was "i want different weapon designs" not that complicated. They've recently added newer designs. saying it's all because the PS2 is getting old, no matter how true it is. I play on PC anyway so i don't care about the Ps2... didn't even think about it in my original post.

But FFXI is a port to PC from PS2. It was originally designed on PS2, and it's engine is as such so the PS2 can handle it. So like it or not, you kind of have to care...

When trying to learn BLU spells, I'd like to know if I've learned the ability right after the monster uses it. Standing there and watching it use the ability three or four times only to end the fight with nothing gets old pretty fast.

maybe a BLU exclusive ability to make a monster counter with a certain ability or something similar with an item would make BLU spells a bit less annoying to learn.

I believe the way it works is that you have a chance to learn a spell upon defeat of the monster (provided the ability was used at least once) and not each moment it uses its ability.

Unsure if campaign weapons have been mentioned, but I wouldn't mind seeing trials to 99 with WS dmg improvement like +10% for each upgrade and maybe some base damage added to the weapons.

Griffinclaw
Lex Talionis
Samudra

Another improvement that is unlikely to happen would be letting us use the WSs out of campaign battle through some quest.

Maybe I'm alone here in the campaign department but destroying zones with 4-6 JP Griffinclaw parties is hecka fun.

A simple change would be to let Nexus Cape tele to any party or alliance member instead of just your party leader. They just change leader anyway if you need to tele to someone else. It'd save a step.

Let's say for the sake of argument, that the game's engine for PC/Xbox 360 version can be revised in a way that you can now use higher resolution textures, 60 frames, soft shadowing, tessellation, more storage space, Like say revise the game to support DX9-DX11 API functions etc, bla bla.

From Square Enix's point of view, what would be the point anyway? You have to pay programmers to re-code an engine for a game that's 11 years old.

Let's say that would be a penny in a bucket for Square Enix to arrange. They go through with it and now PS2 only gamers can't play the game any more. Congratulations, you just alienated a good portion of Japan's player base, most of which is Square Enix's more dedicated customers.

So now the PS2 players are either going to bother with getting the game on a new platform (PC only in Japan's case as rotted vegetables sell better than the Xbox 360 there) or they will just not bother playing the game anymore and in fact, take insult to the move and maybe even not choose to buy any other Square Enix merchandise. Not worth the risk.

So TLDR: Why even argue about whether or not the game can be "updated" if would never ever happen in the first place?

I would like to see all the artifact gear get +2, with a set bonus each.

General Ideas of what +2 artifact armor would be like
Warrior: Reduces penalties from defender and Retaliation. With Increased stats store TP, Haste and Double attack.

Monk: Increases Potency of Chakra, and makes it remove status ailments and further increases the effect from focus, dodge, boost and counter.

Thief: Causes Accomplice to be an area effect, and further increases gilfinder, steal and flee.

White Mage: Enhances the effect of Esuna, Auspice, Cura and Cura II.

Black Mage: Enhances the effect of ancient magic spells, and reduces enmity gained while magic bursting.

Red Mage: Increases Mp for each physical attack landed, Increases HP for each magical attack landed.

Paladin: Converts damage taken into MP, Enhances Shield Bash, -%Physical damage taken

Blu added to Ridill, hexa strike and KC (because being a club wielding job shouldn't limit to using only sub-par wands). Its not like asking for more assimilation.... which would be nice....

A porter storage slip for all types armor seals, +2 upgrade items, empyrean upgrade items, WoE upgrade items. A slip for misc rare/ex weapons and armor like assault jerkin, soboro etc. cuz some of us are sentimental and keep things that had some meaning and/or good times attached lol... /dork

The suggested cop/toau rings upgrades would be nice as would upgrading the Crystal/Moogle/Shan scenario armors be just as sweet.

Abysean armor +3...

I liked the more on hand storage suggestion but it isn't nearly as good a suggestion as more macro lines.

I know this is a "what item u want changed/improved thread" but I would like a quest added that would let you change appearance since years of looking at same toon can get old and starting new is just not in the cards for a lot of the player base, myself included. just a scenario or something that makes you come out different and can only be done once a month or so. could get sucked into a crystal and spit back out changed. and have added features like tattoos/scars/glowing eyes etc. call it the facial reconstruction life altering possible crystal quest or something. SE loves its crystal stuffs.

one last thing- i would very much like to see some NM re-spawn conditions changed. particularly NMs that are magian quests that can take 1-9 hours to re-spawn. seriously. nothing like camping a drooling daisy for a few hours, taking a minute to get food, wc, get mail and coming back to find out someone killed it without even an offered team-up. and some abyssean NMs need the added 3 ???'s due to over camping.

The slip for random items thing would honestly never happen. Who would be to judge what item MIGHT hold sentiment for somebody? That could literally be any item in the game.

...was just a suggestion on a wishlist thread. but i guess i should've been a bit more specific so ok here goes. /clearsthroat, a slip for rare/ex armor/weapons droped from NMs in cop/roz/toau/wotg/blah zones. ;P

how about make the elemental weapon skill torques from sea mergable with the weapon skill + piece gear from sea.

so you could combine love torque with shadow gorget and get Shade Necklace, something with that stats of both it could really put a different vision on things.

So far the only good suggestions really besides Cop Rings ~ Maats cap Used to be a major accomplishment, perhaps make a 99 Maat cap fight version and make it so you need the original cap to flag it and then beat every single job on the 99 version on steroids (including new jobs!) and be given something not junk.

Close, certain moves such as enervation and diamond hide are used by trolls, but you can't learn enervation from a Melee troll, and vice versa (used to be this way at least) plus if the troll used enervation (mage) and then used diamond hide afterwards (which can't be learnt from a mage) You then couldn't learn enervation until it was used again and you would have to kill before it then used diamond hide .....

Now thats a ball ache lol

I get it's a "wish list" but that literally would be impossible to code lol. Some of the suggestions people are coming up with, do hold weight and some of them can/should be done (CoP rings, for the love of jeebus).

Yeah that's utter ***. You learn 1 move from the correct sub family in AU areas. They just need to use it once. The order in which they WS means nothing. They don't have to use the learnable move last.
