9 was too cartoony for me >_< and some of the characters had 0 depth.

If you call the exclusion of anime stereotypes 0 depth, then yes. Finding out Zidane and Vivi's origin was enticing to the player as well as watching Zidane slowly slip into self question and depression and then overcoming those through self growth and accepting who he is. i have actualy only played 7+
but based on that 11 hands down. but 11 aside 1) X 2) VII 3) XIII however i thuroughly enjoyed em all. Wish they had 10 for xbox 360 :) Quetzalcoatl.Wulfie said: » Odin.Eikechi said: » 9 was too cartoony for me >_< and some of the characters had 0 depth. No I moreso meant the blu mage cook thing.. I can't even remember it's name, let alone it's story. And the big Red dude. I think the only real part to his character was he was supposed to kill Zidaine or some crap.. I don't really remember much else to either of those characters.. And anime stereotypes? da hell you talkin' bout Willis? Odin.Eikechi said: » Quetzalcoatl.Wulfie said: » Odin.Eikechi said: » 9 was too cartoony for me >_< and some of the characters had 0 depth. Dude, people can say what they want.
Story in X-2 may have been a little wonky, but the gameplay was hoT with a capital T. zzz
the 13 series is in my top 5 games easy and I hope 1 more comes. I enjoyed the 10 series before CC and 13 came out, those would be my 4th spot. It's hard to pic just three, but:
1. Final Fantasy Tactics (playstation 1) 2. Final Fantasy X 3. Final Fantasy Tactics Advance 1 & 2 6>4
Third place is a toss up. What I like (not in order): 5,7,8,9 What I don't like (again): 1,2,3,10,11,12 What I can't even stand to play: X-2, 13, 13-2, 14, and anything else they release before bankruptcy Ragnarok.Kongming said: » What I can't even stand to play: X-2, 13, 13-2, 14, and anything else they release before bankruptcy Did you actually try any of those? Or rather, what is your major beef with those titles? 1.) XIII/XIII-2: Stunning graphics, amazing storylines, superb voice acting, and a fantastic battle style. Battles weren't as easy as, "Oh, cure this person, attack, attack, attack... Repeat... Repeat..." The Paradigm System was extremely strategic. One wrong move or job placement could cause you the fight. And let's face it, Ali Hillis is <3.
2.) VII: This was my first Final Fantasy ever. I remember watching my cousin play the Honeybee Inn part, telling me to 'look away' at the hot-tub scene. Lol, he's like, bible-thumper Christian. "MEN BATHING TOGETHER, LOOK AWAY BEFORE IT INFLUENCES YOUR LI- Oh..." 3.) Hm, toughie. Tactics or discounting Vaan and Penelo, probably XII. Love me some Balthier. I'm a sucker for accents and good looking men. I loved the Espers, too. 13/13-2 and 7 were the only ones to make me shed a few tears, too. Yes, I got emotional during the V-Lightning DLC ending and when Aerith died. qq i'm gonna go ahead and say for me:
6, 9, 10 though i thoroughly enjoyed 12's battle system, i think 12's lack of an engaging and epic story is what made it fall behind 10 as my 3rd pick, besides...12 doesn't have blitzball :Q 8,7,12,10,13,9
Hmm I think it'd have to be
1. 8 2. 12 3. 7 I love all the games though, some more than others. I even enjoyed X-2, so many people hate it without even playing it. Fenrir.Sylow said: » 8 9 X-2 shut the *** up, i'm gay, i like changing clothes Psshh, X-2 wasn't as bad as people made it out to be really :) - Mine were 13-2, 9 and 8 in that order~ my fav FF games are hmm (only played since FF 7)
1.) 10(including 10-2) 2.) 13(including 13-2) 3.) 7 and 9 share this place.. can't say which i liked more D: i kinda see 10 + 10-2 as "one game" sure it had other battlesystems and stuff, but the story continued, so its one for me. Same for 13-2. i <3 all FF games i played so far.. beside 8. I hated to play 8 :( but mainly because i couldnt get warm with any of the characters 8, 6 then 9 with 12 trailing a close fourth
Although the story was dire in X-2 it prob has my favourite battle flow of all the games. I could never decide which I liked more 4 or 5, so tie, then 9.
VII: the first I was exposed to the FF series and still get a kick out of the story. Fun to remember back then when those graphics were the most amazing on the market at the time.
XIII: not -2. I personally though I have a few of the DLC just could not get engaged in XIII-2 finding the story kind of disjointed and lackluster. I'm still yet to even finish the game because I can only play like an hour before i get fed up with Serah. XIII on the other hand Fang + Lightning = WIN XII had some intreguing zones and stories but falls behind VIII for a 3rd place contender because of annoying charachters i/e Vaan and Penelo. |
