Soo guys, ive been very bored at work and been trying to figure out wth Private servers do?
Do u use ur actual ffxi char on them? can you switch between private server and SE server and keep what ever you did in that private server?

Private servers are not sanctioned by SE in any way. It's basically:
Find a program that can read .dats.
Assemble said .dats to resemble the world.
The only reason people use private servers is because it's fun to be able to solo Pandemonium Warden.
