it's actual more frequent than you think, i use to tank hydra and whatnot as mnk for my old shell. didn't lose hate at all, i did have 6 sams TA gekkoing onto me, point is it's sexy.

I've had to tank a few times, either cz we had a lolNIN tank, or I was doing way too much dmg. Either way it was fun as hell.

Anytime I've seen a MNK tank it's been /NIN, yeah. All that haste they have along with high DoT makes them really good DD tanks, then you add in Hades Sainti...
i always kept on destroyers for pure damage output, never really needed hades sainti. D: i guess solo tanking i didn't need hades, but for my physical down set up i put arhat's +1 then more enmity so it kinda makes up.

Yeah, I started at the tail end of the WAR/MNK GA era...and played it that way, which is why my Axe skill blows *** lol

I've seen it both ways, I doubt it's a huge difference. The extra damage from Destroyers downing the mob faster is a fairly compelling argument though.

it's better I think, I never really lost hate until the BLM starts to zerg which doesn't happen everytime. I was upgrading spharai actually just for MNK tanking but then I saw spharai barely outparse a full usukane MNK with destroyers. Being that good at holding hate with destroyers, there's no reason to really change to sainti. DMG > Enmity but that's just my opinion.

I'm slightly biased towards Sainti since I'm leveling PUP, but as a MNK... yeah, I'm all about the idea of killing the mob faster.
That parse is interesting, but... relics/mythics aren't necessarily a huge upgrade, just the last upgrade. You get weapons like Apoc, Gungnir, GHorn, the PLD relics, and Yagrush that provide significant upgrades to the job, and other weapons like Kikoku and Spharai that just make them better. I'm honestly wondering about the details on that parse though... subs, gear, how aggressively they were playing, etc. It's possible the Spharai MNK wasn't full Usu or was /NIN to the other's /WAR.
yeah, you piss away your life on relics/mythics while I grab a paif of Wag Bags or even Destroyers and kill all those mobs. Well, Spharai is the best relic weapon... HANDS DOWN!!!
Both MNKs were /NIN, full usukane, marinara pizza +1. Depends on player honestly, a lot does. They probably have different ws gear. I was doing ISNMs yesterday with a MNK who's gear wasn't as good as mine, only thing I'm missing is usukane basically and he was doing higher ascetic's fury than me and I had better gear. Although my Asuran Fists were doing 300+ more than his. Just happens sometimes. Destroyers MNK might of been lucky on critical hits or full hits on Asuran Fists, anything could of happened. I'll have to get my friend to find the parser next time I talk to him, I don't have it.
and on a relic topic, mandau is one of the biggest upgrades damage wise, going from doing 1-2k tops in most merit parties to 2-3k every time is pretty sick. spharai isn't a huge jump sadly.
