Yeah like bare metal and wooden play structures!!! Teach you to be uncordinated you get hurt. And man remember just kicking a ball for hours. Hell I still played lots of video games when I had the chance. But yeah going outside playing with friends or even by myself usually better then video games or watching TV.

Tag in school? Back between 4th and 6th grades, we used to fight each other. Had a safe zone on the far side of the school yard, anywhere else and you'd get jumped.

I loved playing kickball in elementary.
Yeah kickball was awesome!!! Though really only my 4th grade school did that much. Handball was all the rage in my 5/6th grade school. Liked it better anyways I could more easily compensate for my rediculously small size by my speed and agility and throwing all my weight into things.

Yeah this happened to me once. You know what I did? I ran screaming at the guy who hit me with the rock until I couldn't see anymore cause of all the blood in my eyes.
We used to play a game called "WallBall". You had a racquetball and either a painted line or a 2' ledge about 15'-20' from a brick/block wall. (There were two places that it was played.)
The way you played the game was... You threw the ball at the wall and then people tried to catch it and then throw it at the wall again. (Or if you were mean... Get it to bounce so it hit people in the legs and such and didn't catch it.) If the ball touched any part of you that wasn't the palm of your hand when you caught it / picked it up... You had to run up to the wall, touch it, and then run back behind the line. Then the others tried to pick up the ball and peg you with it before you got back behind the line. Was so much fun!

I have to chime in though; anyone who had a NES remembered the Nintendo Ritual. Blow in the cartridge until you were red in the face and on the verge of catching an anurism. Then scream at the TV when you turned it on to a screen half blue, and half pictured.
Also, yes. Tag HAS been banned in a few schools...and suicide was awesome. Catch it with one hand and you had some fun. Kickball was ALWAYS great if you knew how to aim trajectory and speed...I'm sure my friend gave at least one girl breast cancer and I for sure welted some ankles. :D

Hell yeah, we used to play wall ball when I was a kid in Philly, we called it Suicide, or "Sui" for short. Played similar to the way Tbest describes, except for we didn't have to run back, you just had to touch the wall and say "Sui!" or get beamed.
Used to play it with Raquetballs, which stung like a sonofabitch, let me tell you, as well as that one sick guy that wanted to play with a golf ball...*** that noise LOL
And LOL at the pencil breaking game, we used to play that too. Peeps used to get their uber hard pencils and care for them like they were a prized glove or bat or something

Wtf how do you actually ban this stuff!?! Seriously used to play full contact everything in highschool. Well everything sport where you were allowed to be near the oppenent. Yes that meant dropping someone on the bastket field sometimes

haha we had 'flag' football in gym class. Which just meant run fullspeed directly into the nerdy kid's chest then laugh about and wave the 'i was going for his flag' card.... Was also a good cop-a-free-feel-of-the-hot-chick game. I think we're the reason kids arent allowed doin anything anymore lol
