Megaupload / Video shutdown, US Arrests

All I know is that they've been shut down many many times before, and there was some drama over the owners (iirc, they were faced with a 2 million dollar law suit or something, no idea how it was resolved but the longest amount of time the site has been down has been like, 5 hours.)

It's pretty hard/near impossible to get caught if you use TPB at a home computer, plus TPB has almost everything at a person's disposal if there willing to wait a certain amount of time.
As long as they don't take down MediaFire, fine by me.

I didn't even really feel 'safe' on Demonoid, it's technically a private tracker.. But it might as well be public.. The only reason I liked Demonoid over completely public trackers was because there were so few fake torrents or files loaded with virus/spyware. The registration never really made me feel safe though, it's not invite only, it's just the easiest way, every so often they open up registration to anyone for a couple of days (that's how I got on, checking it every day until they opened them).

Hey I'm just human. My major source of entertainment got shut down by the government, so I find it somewhat satisfying that they get poked by anon.
Though I realize that all this piracy and "lolanon hacks" will probably lead to SOPA, or something like it, getting passed somewhere down the line.

“It was in retaliation for Megaupload, as was the concurrent attack on Justice.org,” Anonymous operative Barrett Brown tells RT on Thursday afternoon.
Brown adds that “more is coming” and Anonymous-aligned hacktivists are pursuing a joint effort with others to “damage campaign raising abilities of remaining Democrats who support SOPA.”
Brown adds that operatives involved in the project will use an “experimental campaign” and search engine optimization techniques “whereby to forever saddle some of these congressmen with their record on this issue.”
