| I just wanted to warp in here and let you know that we are thinking about lowering the casting time for dark magic. On top of that, we are also looking into DRK's magic usage.

The "great ideas" include:
Darkness I & II (the opposite of Holy)
Renewing the formulas for Drain I & II
An actual reason to use Entropy
Occ absorb HP spell/ja
Maybe some other suggestions, maybe some of you can think of some~

Please, a trait similar to the one BLM got for elemenal magic.

I hope they steal my idea of giving DRK a trait that doesn't use spellcasting as a cumulative delay to weapon swings.
Part of the reasons DRKs never cast is cause it adds severe delay between swings, if there was no gap between them, then I'm sure spells would be a much more valuable addition without interfering with melee DPS.
Might be hard to work out in the mechanics, but it's just an idea.

I made a half assed suggestion in one of the "boo hoo, hand me the world - petition" threads about something like a souleater for mp. In retrospect I think it could work. Maybe like you pop 100% of your mp for an attack boost. You could also get some sort of buff that also takes a mp degen. Sadly, I have no interest in the official forum so I'll never post it there :./

A souleater effect that is watered down but sucks up your MP would be interesting. Would make for a good damage boost without sacrificing your safety and healer's MP.

This comes from the development panel that thinks another BST familiar with dispel is OP.
Even if it wasn't an outright elimination of the delay, a reduction would be a significant and much needed boost for DRK.

I'd like to see a reason to cast the elemental spells and make use of the Occult Acumen personally. Naturally the only way that would be viable would be a drastic drop in cast time and increased damage. Or to continue swinging your weapon while casting. I see none of those being implemented, as DRK is not a nuking job and that would be out of place on it, and elemental magic just being for lulz (and the rare "omg fire III got yellow" :P)
As is, the tier 3 spells actually give a considerable amount of TP when cast, which could be used as a way to TP without having to melee dangerous mobs.
I'd still rather have them focus on dark magic for dark knight, but it just would be nice to have some sort of use for the spells they already have.

Sounds fair to me.
Either a trait with a static reduction or a JA with a more powerful one and a respectable cooldown. Either way, I think it'd be a good idea.

i would still like a spell similar to ninja utsu. where we summon a clone copy that fights with us "hp depends on skill" like zeid was able to do. would be nice. even if they could only take a hit or two

I'd be content with something like this, no problem at all.
If they did similar dmg to holy\holy2 with same casting times, I'd gladly take those, and maybe actually use them once in awhile (Just to have a reason to use Entropy :P)

If they can't lower the MP cost for the DRK version for their MP pool maybe darkness can do the same damage while also putting some kind of status ailment on the enemy.

halve all our casting time with dark magic... very hard to be beneficial casting when we're using hasso/segian to begin with and already basically doubling our casting time.

I can see that sort of problem happening, however.
Whm's got holy and holy II and then pld got it at a slightly higher level.
If Drk got Darkness and Darkness II then blms are gonna whine that they don't either, then If Darkness and Darkness are polar oposites of their light counterparts then Blms are gonna want an afflatus type of deal to go with their Dark magic like whm has for Divine magic.
That's my input anyway, don't mind me, I've had a few to drink, turned 20 yesterday <3

Could we get a terror spell too? I think DRK should be able to instill fear into the hearts of their enemies.

They had the same kind of spells in Final Fantasy 12, they had holy, and then dark, darkra and Darkga spells.
