AMC walking dead [Spoilers]
I'm pretty excited. Good to see some things that happened in the comic also happen in this season, different characters or not.
Pretty escited for this season after one episode ^_^
Pretty ***' good season starter. I hate waiting a week for more!
Pretty good premiere but the last 2 seasons started strongly and progressively got terrible. It does seem like they addressed some writing and pacing issues, like not having 90% of the cast being completely useless and annoying, which makes me hopeful. Even Carol seemed to have a purpose. It would be really difficult to *** up the Governor storyline so I'm pretty optimistic :D
Terrible? Don't think we were watching the same show.
Yeah, I stopped recording it sometime during the middle of last season because it was just infuriatingly bad. It was basically stupid people doing really stupid things on a farm for 8+ episodes. The last finale was an amazing improvement, however. The first two season premieres are probably the strongest episodes of the series so far followed closely by their finales. If the remaining episodes are as consistent as tonight's then I could just forgive the past two seasons as a show just trying to find its footing.

Seriously the last season made me so mad I was done with this show. I watched the season opener and I can totally agree that if they keep it this way.. it will be solid. I'm just sick of people arguing and sometimes zombies. That's not what I wanted out of this show. But they can't please all the fans right? Q_Q Story line and character development is so terrible!
~Just to be clear, I don't care if people don't like it. I just think some people complain about some really strange things, lol. Well see I read the graphic novels. I just feel like the pacing is way too slow. The farm wasn't nearly a huge part of the story vs the tv show.
Now I know the show is "Inspired" by the novels I get that. But for soo many ep's it was just the same crap all the time. "Oh no someone is having an internal conflict. Oh no Lori is preggers wat do!" It just put me off how slow the story was going. I know that the show needs more um.. drama I guess to compete with other shows that grab the viewer. I just feel I wanted something more out of the show. Like fast passed on your toes never a safe moment feeling. That I feel season two lacked. I went through the whole episode without wishing Lori would die in the next scene! Her scene where she was telling Hershel that she was scared her baby was already dead actually made me sympathetic. I was kinda confused though why her and Rick aren't talking. Is it just because the baby might not be his or was there an implication that something happened over the winter that i didn't catch?
Graphic novels are going to be different. They're... well, graphic novels. If the "live action" tv show expects to last it cannot be the same thing. I will agree that some of it slowed down in the second season, but it wasn't bad. The story actually didn't slow down, they just added more to it, lol.
It's not a 2 hour movie or a graphic novel. It's not going to be constant action through 45 minutes of each episode. It wouldn't last if it was. Anyway, just brings me back to my previous statement. :3 why can't they just stab every zombie to death behind the fence then run for the gate? I don't get this ***.
Why put the one medical expert they have in danger just to clear some zombies? :|
Why did he cut his leg off? I don't see the logic in it.. I mean under normal zombie movie/show/game circumstances I could see why you might do that... Maybe if you cut off the limb before the virus can spread further you can prevent infection...
But everyone is already infected anyways, there is no "preventing the infection" in this case because bit or not, he's already carrying the virus. If anything they cut his chances of living even further, now there's an even larger wound to get infected, not to mention an even greater loss of blood and shock to the system. Will how i see it is they have the virus but it does not kick in too they die. If they get a bit by and live they would turn but it slow. But dying by yourself seem to be a very quick and you become a walker in few mins of being dead vs getting bit. So ya maybe cutting cutting the limb would not turn him but the issue is if he dies because he lost a lot of blood it pretty did noting. I don't even know why he went to him he worth more doing noting and being save but i guess i understand. Having no log now would make him really useless and he could easy get killed now :( i hope he does not turn; ; Cerberus.Pleebo said: » I went through the whole episode without wishing Lori would die in the next scene! I wasn't in a happy place at the time. >_> Bites cause some kind of lethal infection that maybe activates the latent infection somehow. It's how Andrea's sister died but I don't think it's been fully explained on the show.
I wonder who have the higher intelligent here, the zombie or the human. Seem like the zombie has the upper hand here, and the humans have the cell key, shield and weapon advantage too. Why can't they just lock down the entrance area of the basement and just make noise to lure the zombie to come out. Then they can start stabing it behind the cell doors until all die, that strategy worked wonder outside the yard.

It only makes people question, "WHY ARE THEY SO DUMB" then watch next week to judge the cast again! I noticed that in S1,in the tv show they say the bite makes you sick, gives you a fever and burns you out, killing you.You dont die from a bite in the comic. I made a huge mistake by peeking in here. I should have just watched it last night instead of DVRing it.

I'm going to guess that the bites maybe cause your death and your death triggers becoming undead, because it seems as though people die after being bitten, not become undead after being bitten
It's best to just not think about it... the type of zombies they have already aren't possible so trying to scientifically rationalize any part will ruin it.

It's how Andrea's sister died but I don't think it's been fully explained on the show. Didn't Amy die from blood loss? She didn't show any symptoms like Jim had. One of the zombies pretty much ripped out her jugular. In terms of the logic behind Rick's decision, it's pretty simple really. When Jim was bit, he got incredibly sick and likely died within 24 hours of that bite. Rick was probably hoping he could prevent the infection by cutting off the bitten area. If he leaves the limb on he's as good as dead probably within 24 hours anyways so why not try to save his life? I'm thinking the virus from a bite and the virus they are all carrying are 2 different viruses. Yeah, you're right about Amy. I think the survivors are aware about the consequences of bites just from experiences prior to Rick joining them. But yeah Jim may have been who I was thinking of.
I like the explanation above that the bite is just a very serious infection since zombie mouths are probably a bit on the dirty side (even though the particular mechanism isn't really important to the show's logic).
