Thanks everyone.
I was worried that I was too high in level to learn certain spells.
I will just spam spells to level up my blue magic skills, and little like leveling Summoning, Enhancing, and Healing.

Which are your "Ugh!!!" Spells?
Thanks everyone.

Asura.Tamoa said: It's affected by your Blue Magic skill level, yes. To be able to learn a spell, your skill can be a maximum of 30 points below the cap for the level when you can use said spell. Here's a website I found (and still find) very useful: http://173.192.108.24/~tforum/blu/BLUMain.html You'll find a lot of information about all spells there, lowest level to learn them etc etc. Also, get your AF hands! Body might help aswell. I keyed blu from 42 to 78 myself, but running around learning spells after that quickly got my skill capped. Start with some lower level spells, spam low damage spells on the mob and you will skill up while learning new spells. That's what I did anyway. (Edited: typo) That site is my Blue Mage bible. I really want to email whoever hosts it witha lot of updates for it! This site is fantastic for BLU's magic fruit was terrible, at one point I was questioning whether opo's could use it or not.
Any that takes more than one attempt, seriously.
I remember the days when levelling blu was difficult D;
And I totally agree with poison breath. That pissed me off to no end. Frenetic rip was terrible too, I was solo'ing it on T imps in the mire at Lv60ish and I just couldn't break their damn horns. But yeah, good luck on your blue maging! Ragnarok.Marquiss said: magic fruit was terrible, at one point I was questioning whether opo's could use it or not. I had that problem with Magic Barrier, the eyes just refused to use it. Must have taken me about a week of on/off attempts before I finally got it. I can't find help to learn spells, so I look for alternatives in Abyssea. I spent last night soloing some spells in a few zones, and heres my records on them. Also, I am very weird. I screenshot my log everytime I learn a spell. I have all spells level 12 and up logged XD
(WARNING: large spoiler!!) Still trying Maelstrom, my biggest headache of a spell to learn. 0/34 on it so far. I got Maelstrom 1/1 in Sea Serpent Grotto.
Asura.Calatilla said: I got Maelstrom 1/1 in Sea Serpent Grotto. I've tried Purgonogo Isle, Onzozo, Sea Serpent Grotto, and Abyssea-Vunkerl. I don't seem to have any luck with it :/ I'll never forget the horror that was learning Self-Destruct. Occultation gave me trouble too, Frenetic Rip as well since tried to learn it 60ish.
Asura.Wordspoken said: I'll never forget the horror that was learning Self-Destruct. Occultation gave me trouble too, Frenetic Rip as well since tried to learn it 60ish. I did Self-Destruct in Gusgen Mines, 1/15, 2 hours >< Occultation took an an hour or so, 1/5. Metallic body, diamondhide, self destruct, magic fruit, vertical cleave(still don't have it btw) hysteric barrage
Mind Blast took me several days to learn, Occultation took about an 1 for me, mob kept using it but, it took all my multi-hit spells to eat through the shadow to kill it >.<. Triuphant Roar took a few days...mob would start flying instead of using the spell.
FINALLY got Maelstrom! /happydance
Diamond Hide. Seriously, just doesn't want to be learned. Occultation was a huge pain too.
Leviathan.Alkalinejoe said: Quad. Continuum/Auroral Drape Oh and Head Butt. Took me about 2 hours before realizing it came from Quadavs and not Mandies, then went to go learn it from the ones in konschtat and went like 1/3. >__> I'm so glad I'm not the only one who did that. -.-; I thought it'd be fun to level BLU without doing any spell research (leveled solo so that others would not be affected by my gimptastic fun). Yeah...still missing some spells, but I did luck into some of the better spells and hunted down the other good ones. On topic: Metallic Body and Healing Breeze can kiss my ***! Winds of Promyvion and Reaving Wind
Asuran claws was annoying to get.
Asura.Darkestdream said: Diamond Hide. Seriously, just doesn't want to be learned. Occultation was a huge pain too. And to the guy that said bog bodies don't use spinal cleave, make sure you have the conditions right, because they're seriously *** stupid conditions. They have to have their main weapon broken, but NOT pulled out their second weapon that's holstered on their back yet. So HELP I AM TRAPPED IN 2006 PLEASE SEND A TIME MACHINE. I've heard tons of horror stories about people who tried BLU and just gave up because they just could not learn any spells to start off, but thankfully, that didn't happen to me. I remember Metallic Body seemed like it took awhile, but in lieu of later spells, it doesn't seem that bad at all. XD
-Healing Breeze: Soloed dhalmels trying to learn this from 14 (just about 15) all the way to almost 16 before learning it. This being long before FoV or the exp boosts or anything, of course (I leveled BLU shortly after it came out). -Claw Cyclone: First of all, this spell irritates me because up until this points, there's always mobs around your level that you can learn it from BEFORE the level you can use it. I was the type of BLU who refused to get a level without already have the spells for that level learned, even if they were useless. I had to get someone to tank tigers for me, because at 19 or lower, there are no tigers that won't kick your ***. And then they just did NOT want to use it. -Grand Slam: Repeat of Healing Breeze. Soloed EM-T giants in Qufim from barely 29 to almost 30 before I learned it. -MP Drainkiss: Too damn many TP moves. Stupid leeches. -Self-Destruct: Worst one ever for me. Went 1/51 on it, and that's only counting the bombs I managed to get to use it. x.x -I seem to remember one of the Troll spells taking a long time too... forget if it was Enervation or Diamondhide, but I think it was Diamondhide. -Winds of Promyvion: was 1/7 on it (which is my worst record of any of the post-75 spells, to be honest), but it took like 1.5-2 hours for those 7 mobs, because they refused to friggin use it. >_> Odin.Blazza said: Asura.Darkestdream said: Diamond Hide. Sub-Zero Smash took me probably 10 game hours. But for the most part they were all not too bad.
Warm-up is currently giving me hell >.> 0/22, almost getting up to my Maelstrom record.

I'm pretty sure I've broken imps horns before, causing them to use Frenetic Rip. Could be wrong. You BLUs should make a thread on the official forums to call for an animation or at least color change for chat log for when spells are learned. I can't recall how many times I've farmed spells for hours on end, and probably spent 30-60+ minutes farming a spell I had already learned because of battle spam going through my log and sometimes simple oversight.

Guess I'm not a career BLU then. It should be instinctive as soon as you know you can see it in the chatlog. :3
After something uses its move, I kill and then my eyes shift instantly to the log. Nah, I've missed learning spells too, it often appears several lines before player killed X mob line and you only realise after hitting ctrl M that it's there at the bottom. I simply got into the habit of hitting ctrl M fairly often to double check instead.
