I've finally arrived. Not looking forward to the long nights filled with grading.

Random Thoughts.....What are you thinking?
I just spent an hour and a half working on a study guide to accompany a video that I'm having my students watch, tomorrow.
I've finally arrived. Not looking forward to the long nights filled with grading. I did. Doesn't mean I have to like it. Just like with all jobs, there are things I'm going to love, and things I'm going to want to burn.

Not looking forward to the long nights filled with grading. It doesn't involve an essay does it? They're all just fill in the blank questions, like this one: One of the most famous speeches in the play: the _________________________ scene. I wrote the questions so that they use the exact wording the people in the film use so that way they don't have to scramble to figure it out. By the time they can associate those words with the text, they should have gotten the answer. The answer to that question by the way is "dagger". ok 1. as long as it isn't long fill in the blanks, or you are willing to replay a scene, because sometimes *** that ***, I'll be focused on the movie and forget about the paper.
2. *** essays sir, glad you didn't put one on here, but seriously *** essays. Busy work and a waste of *** time. I want some home made pumpkin pie :3
me too plz
Lets gather together at Austin and we can make one? :D <3

Busy work and a waste of *** time. 2. I personally would only do essays when viable, but unfortunately due to the curriculum and the fact that they need it to practice for their upcoming Cambridge test, I have to. For their test, they have to write one general essay, one empathic essay and what I'm having them do, one passage based essay. Passage based basically means something along the lines of "respond to this one passage in a certain way." The certain way by the way has to be done on an emphasis on the language. For instance, one of the essays I'm going to assign is going to be "Explain how the language used in Act 2 Scene 2 to set up a panicked state in Macbeth and Lady Macbeth." It has to be very language based due to the IGSCE curriculum's assessment criteria, wherein 25% of what they're being graded on has something to do with the language used in the literature; something that we really haven't gotten into this past year. In other words, my hands are tied. You can thank Common Core and Cambridge for my incessant use of essays. I am going to break the monotony for them though by giving them some fun lessons, but for the most part it's going to be very dreary. But, on the plus side, they're Honors students, so they shouldn't have an issue with all the writing they're about to do. The other student teacher I work with actually bumped up a student's grade because his answer made her laugh. I was appalled by the ethical issues that accompanied that, but our mentor teacher just let it fly.
That ***won't happen on my watch, though. My students are going to get the grades they earn, period. Chu Chu said: » ![]() I've always wondered this. I could understand perhaps for the older GB versions (R/B/Y + G/S/C), but from the GBA generation on... why not more potato
