baneling landmines in starcraft 2. biggest powertrip on the face of the planet.

fighting a dragon, two mammoths, and a giant (free for all, wasnt the target of all of them at the same time) at like level 15 in skyrim. heartpounding epicness.

winning a 200 lap endurance race in gran turismo 2 by milliseconds.

De Rol Le fight for the first time in PSO.

first...encounter in uncharted 2, that was rediculous

final race in Need for Speed: Hot Pirsuit

Beating Metroid Fusion with 95% completion in 4hrs

FFIX Lich win in less than 12 hours of gameplay while still getting full completion (i cried and swore to never do that ever again)

final mark mission on ffxiii with 5-stars, that fight is rough.

beating the elite four in pokemon blue for the first time ever, proving Zapdos is way OP.

Warcraft 3. that game is just epic in general

getting a near perfect Mew picture in pokemon snap...

that's all i can think of for now. but there's plenty more

Ys Seven Final Boss(three forms in a row) on Nightmare Difficulty, oh man did that fight last forever.
Kingdom Hearts II final showdown with Xemnas was an epic multi-form fight, imo.
Need more hard multi-form final boss fights in video games these days. >:

I don't know if any of you ever played the Metal Gear Solid series, but the closest time I came to crying in a game (even more so than FFVII) was when you return to Shadow Moses Island in MGS4. Then the music plays, and the Codec conversation flashbacks, and the BWAAAAH

For me, that takes the cake for my most epic game moment.

Oh that totally reminds me to finish KHII, I got to that last boss and he whooped me for like two hours. I got pretty close one time! I just remember I was pretty underleveled because I basically avoided all the enemies that I could for some reason. Sunday project!

Greatest video game moments...

I think playing super mario brothers 3 and playing it little by little going through the different worlds. That system was on for days, possibly more than a week.

Finally getting to the final map, and the dog tripped over the cord and pulled the NES with it loosing my progress completely.

Yup... that has to be the best moment for me. Wasn't a good moment but by far the one I remember the most.

-New demo with Viewtiful Joe 2 comes in mail.

-Play Viewtiful Joe 2 demo.

-Next morning realize no data on memory cards whatsoever.

-Letter comes in mail warning of "Viewtiful Joe 2 demo is corrupt etc." a few days later.

I think my most memorable moment was the first time I played FFIII on SNES. The next would be when I finally beat Kefka at the end after 80 hours of game time. My favourite RPG of all time. Lastly is about 3/4 of Chrono Trigger. lol

Bart, Zombies Ate my Neighbors was sooooo hard to actually beat lol. Took me like 10 of the purple monster potions to kill the final boss, and every weapon I had on top of that lol... Game was so great though.

I actually think the most epic gaming moment for me was when I started XI, the game was just so huge and epic\amazing compared to anything I had ever played before.
Was kind of the first "epic" kind of game I ever played aswell.
I did play ff7-8 when I was a child, but I barely understood any english at the time, so I only knew what was going on story-wise with what I could see in cutscenes xD

To be serious, the first time I ever did this:

The ending really put a smile on my face, one of the best feelings I had in a long time on any game.

I just beat Skyward Sword and loved the ending, did love the final boss, maybe a bit easy with the Hylian Shield but meh.

Favourite fight in that entire game was Kolotos or however his name was spelled.

Oh god, where to start? Had so many...

Let's go retro for a second:

Gunstar Heroes - Stage 5. DESTROY THEM ALL!! Great music, epic setting (sunset of course, ever the powerful scene) and relentless action. So insane.

Guy is playing on Normal difficulty which is a shame :( unlike most games which just change damage multipliers on higher difficulties, Gunstar Heroes actually made the AI dramatically more difficult with substantially increased rate of fire/more advanced boss fights/etc.

Dynamite Headdy - basically the entire last third of the game. Nonstop action and difficult boss fights.

Ecco the Dolphin - the whole game, really. Nothing at that time really portrayed such emotional depth as the sense of isolation and even fear that you could find in this game.

Ecco 2 - the Skyway levels. I hadn't found a game that tried time travel before so the portrayal of the future being this harmonious sky world was amazing.

Also explored in the underrated Dreamcast/PS2 versions, another amazing moment (but also one of the hardest levels of my life...)

FF7 - Shinra HQ infiltration. I don't know what it is I loved about this, but it was here I realised I was truly playing something special (my first game of this level of depth - I was 7). Just the character development in here with the idea of infiltration and change in pace from the rest of the game along with obviously what happens later on - just mindblowing. Then you enter the world map and suddenly you realise just how massive the game is... I could never put it down after this point.

Sonic Adventure 1/2 - their final stories are both very good, 2 being much more polished than 1's. Some of the best last bosses I've seen in games too! Getting 180 emblems in #2 was also a great moment.

I could go on and on because so many games have made an impact on me, but this will do for now ~

Ha you just reminded me of the Shinra Infiltration, you beat the boss, now you're making your escape. A short conversation with Tifa reveals Cloud has a plan and we've got to take this truck, but where the hell is Cloud?

Cue Cloud crashing out of the Shinra building on a motorcycle.

EDIT - video!

-Beating CoP in FFXI

-The Sora vs Roxas fight in KH2FM+. It was just so fantastic and the music is awesome. Also getting 100% completion (Gummi ships too!) on FM+.

-Beating Emerald Weapon in FF7 (I was just a wee lad and was so proud of myself T.T)

Yes :D and then you have the epic motorcycle chase and that scene just outside the Gates to Sector 5.

I have talked about this moment so many times but I still fail to properly capture the full enormity of it, at least to me. I think it was that moment which actually redefined my entire gaming life - they went from simply being entertainment to being a form of emotional, compelling media.

You've spent your entire game in Midgar, this dystopian city. You are oppressed and darkness shrouds everything. You've finally escaped this impregnable wall of despair with your companions - very fleshed out characters (except Red XIII who isn't really explored yet, being a new character). Your future is uncertain and your goals split. Walking away from the city, the sky brightens and this intense adventurous but somewhat sombre music track resonates around you.

You then realise the sheer magnitude of the world around you, and feel free - just as the characters feel free from Midgar's oppression.

I really think mindblowing was an understatement for that.

FFX, one of the first CGI videos in the game, when you see Tidus in the locker room before his first Blitzball game... That video, and the preceding game to follow, changed the way I looke at games for a long time. And was actually the reason I got into the FF series.
