So what do people think of the Fields of valor and treasure casket additions to the game, or any of the other changes made?
Unless the rewards of fields of valor are somewhat decent i suspect it will be a minigame mostly used by lower level, newer players though. Will have to wait and see.

Also, dunno if the details are available yet, but what kind of items do people reckon will be in the locked treasure caskets?

After logging in, the first mob I killed dropped an unlocked chest in w sara. I had the choice of either a temp silent oil or a temp echo drop. :)

The coffer thing is actually really great. I remember not long ago doing my Brd af coffer in Castle O and getting beat over and over by some *** Thf to coffer pops. This delay of receiving gil or items again and fast pop coffers after af/key items is a real help.
Hmm hopfully if locked ones are really hard to get they might drop cool items =D /hopes

I knew that these Caskets would be an Epic Fail. Anyone who was expecting epic gear in old world areas was fooling themselves.
After playing around in Qufim Island for a while and was using /bst and used kraken to help kill mobs, i did get 2 caskets at same time because the pet killed a monster and i did, so yes there can be
more than 1 casket you get to open at same time, also i did get a mythril ring, brass leggings and a potion +3(which wasnt temporary item) so far but i hope to see something actually good from this. However i did find the killing a monster then casket popping a bunch of times when one was killed in the party annoying, because it distracted players and slowed the party down. Also i read from the ffxi wiki that you can use thief tools to open a casket, but im guessing 1 tool per chance or something like that...

has anyone noticed loonger delays on bows and xbows after update , or is it just me
I actually found an ex/rare item in a Casket in W. Sara. It was a lvl 5 gun called Firefly for Thf/Nin/Rng/Cor with: 11 dmg, +1 Agi. and a delay of 600. This would make this gun the lowest lvl possible gun you could get in the game. Not bad add on either for only a lvl 5. To bad I've already lvl'd all 4 jobs it can be used for to at least 20 lol.
