yea, lv99 cap won't be happening i think... think of all the gear that's level 75 right now, that'd have to massively overhaul the entire game... monster xp and everything ><.

And now I bid FFXI and all my friends goodbye. The game has been destroyed for me with this level increase. I've spent a long time taking a bunch of jobs to 75 and feeling awesome with my gear. And to have it all obsolete with a huge update? *** that. Hell. Salvage gear is going to become obsolete now. Hurray!

I personally don't think there will be that much new gear that's better than a lot of stuff like Salvage gear.
I think it will add to the game, I get somewhat sad when I hit 75 because I can no longer level that job, but now I'll be able to keep going. Yay

At least they're spacing the level increases out between 3 updates. Far too much grindgage for 1 update.

Personally I wouldn't be QQing quite yet, we don't know all that much about it yet. We don't know what it'll be effecting, whether it's just in Abyssea or not. I'd say we should carry on like normal until more information on this is revealed. No point in dropping out because of something we have little info on.

Why would have level 99 make a lower level gear useless?
Look at Bounding boots, they are level 7 yet can be worn up to 60+ depending on job. Stats matter, not what level you need to be to wear it.

SE said that they will be able to aug their items, making relic/mythic not useless.
