I have people in LS who went 3/4 (three of them) and one who went 4/4. I can't do math but from these numbers (which are way too small of a sample) I'd say at least on Asura the rate seems to be somewhat close to 50%? Keep in mind different servers killed a different amount of NMs the previous week, and that likely has an influence on the drop rate on the current week. Unfortunately theres one crucial piece of data missing that we wil never know, unless someone is meticulously killing NMs daily:
The number of NMs killed the previous week, presuming the patch notes are accurate and the kill counts have a moderate/significant impact on matter rate. Have been present in maybe six or seven NM kills, no idea how many done on the server as a whole.
Was also present for an NM kill in between climbs, no noticeable change in drop rate. 3 chars, Asura. Alabaster Matter:
3/4 1/4 2/4 Not counting the 100% first drop of course. Haven't killed a single NM myself but not sure that matters at all. 6/12 = 50%
2-3 a week is 10-15 weeks per accessory if you do 5 full clears a week. On Shiva, our Linkshell killed and recorded every kill we made throughout week - we killed 8/8 sunday-thursday and started late on friday and could only find 4/8...on saturday 0/8...
on checking our logs i noticed in our recorded kills: Apollyon: SMN, PUP, DNC, THF, RUN, BLM, SAM, COR, MNK, GEO, WAR, RDM, NIN, SCH, WHM, PLD, RNG, BRD, DRG, BLU, BST, DRK Temenos: NIN, SMN, DNC, RUN, PLD, BLU, THF, WHM, DRG, MNK, SCH, WAR, BLM, RNG, BRD, COR, SAM, BST, PUP, GEO, RDM, DRK there are only 22 NMs per week per zone - after 22 unique jobs are killed, no more spawn. edit: corrected days of the week imagine they added like 10k exemplar points per NM (like peach power gives, per mob) if you were in range/participated for a kill...
if they didn't want to "ruin" the amazing grind they've set us up for with the +4 upgrades/acc. augment paths, this would be a nice way to motivate people to participate, and the self-limiting factor of NM pops would reduce it being "abusable" i have friends that are already over killing the NMs while i still find it kinda fun, but in reality i don't have any real reason to sink a bunch of time and likely ep into fighting one or convincing them to I think they really need to add some incentive
and not a one time oh you can now upgrade to +5 because you killed name. should complete the tower or something. its extremely time consuming to stop and kill one of these with just 6 people the blm took forever to get down to ~25 and thats when he decided it time to manafont inf times. Yeah ok thanks that's what I am afraid of
People already aren't doing it If enough people don't do it, be sure there will be an adjustment.
The only problem with the NMs is their ability to OHKO at will through capped DT. This in-itself isnt a massive issue, but mixed in with the high EP loss at higher ML, “throw bodies at it” becomes a problem
A lot of the NMS can be handled with a single party of real people.
Just take a RUN, BRD, WHM, RDM, COR, and DD. Crucial buffs bein' Mambox2, Ninja's Roll, and Runeist's Roll(or Chaos if it's not one of the debuff heavy ones). RDM can easily land their full line of debuffs, Paralyze II, Addle II, and Slow II are quite robust here. Other than that, cap haste/other offensive buffs/debuffs as much as possible, and grind'em down slow(ish). The RUN should hit the 80% evade rate cap(on top of whatever their parry rate is), take almost no damage, and you'll only really get in trouble if the NM goes AOE spam happy. Ideally you'll get Dia III(Light Shot)(-23%), Box Step 5(-13%), and Shell Crusher(-25%) (BRDs break out your staves, damn it!) and put the NM at -61% defense. And then if you wipe, wipe completely, and just get back up. RRIV, Arise, Raise III, and even Raise II cause Limbus has the graces with the % EXP loss reduction(maybe only Raise II for people ML39 and below though). You'll be taking another swing at the NM before you know it! Issue is you need a completely different setup to properly fight an NM than you need to do a climb.
If you just go with a low-person dd and support party, you'll get wiped quickly. Sure if you have a full party with a tank whm rdm cor brd yes, you can fight anything. You won't be killing very fast though and your climb will take much longer. A party like that can take on Dyna W3 boss on its own too. On the flipside the NMs do not re-generate health even if you stop fighting them, so can be chipped at over the course of the week. Even with that, no one is touching blus or rdms by choice. I can't hear you over the sound of Vitiation's death gurgles :D
Has anyone found marked difference between the zone varieties, as in what they do? I've mainly fought the ones in Temenos, but also the COR in Apollyon. Just wondered if same ***different names, or if different ***and different names? Have fought Rangers and Runs in both zones, they were the same other than the names.

Theres no maxes listed on wiki, so I couldnt even know what the max is. What I do know is Im losing ~70k EP on death before the refill from raise, and thats not chump change EP. What level are you 50?
And was there a way to tell what the rest of the graces are valued at? The NPC will tell you what level your graces are at if you ask them about graces.
Reintroducing any form of EXP, Exemplar or what ever loss that results in deleveling is so beyond me at this point. I don't buy a larger amount of real players wanted this. RMT on their gazillion alts, sure (it doesn't affect you™) but you can't tell me a reasonable amount of real players, a hand full lunatics aside, asked for this.
What surprises me is of all places people here are bothered by it, most of you just bot it back over night anyway, did energy prices go up that much in your place? Dodik already covered it:
The climb setup isnt the same as your NM setup. Im not neutering my climb setup and tacking an extra 30++ minutes onto it just to be prepared for NMs along the way. UC should have hourly chatter (xx:30:00 for teme, xx:00:00 for apy) stating the presence of NMs on which floors, and a celebratory “we cleared them all” message if theyre all down. They dont even have to say what jobs, just something along the lines of presence of weird mannequins. The same way they put out DI notices.
Edit: make it 15/45 since the NMs respawn at JP midnight and that first one wont be accurate. Dodik said: » the NMs do not re-generate health even if you stop fighting them If you come across any BLUs and RDMs, I would recommend not Silencing/fighting them unless you have a group capable of killing it in no more than 3 Silences or you'll make them harder for everyone else. Limbus would be 93% better for everyone, new and old school, gear and not geared if they allowed us to cleave.
93% more fun, 31.2% faster. Someone of the 1% not banned please post this on the OF. The NM's should at the very least provide more than a seemingly minute increase to drop rate of matters in the following weeks chests. Even a standard 500 units or something would be welcome.
As it is now, the design only benefits individuals who have boat loads of time to play to complete multiple runs of each zone each week. I actively try to help kill NM's because they are semi more exciting than the climb but for my particular situation, there is zero benefit in doing so. I'll get my single matters each week regardless because I usually don't complete more than a single climb in each zone due to play time and its boring. Side note, on a lot of the melee nm's ninja counter/evasion build is fun lol. SAM couldn't touch me yesterday between my high evasion, 78% counter, shadows and migawari.
