Is there no fix to this crap?
The flag used to disable windows key also breaks the alt-tab behavior.

Weird alt tab behavior is normal in Windows 11?

I am lucky enough to still being able to postpone this horrendous thing update but I am not sure how long my luck will last for... can disable getting feature updates either via registry or local gpo. I blocked 24H2 myself after installing 23H2 because 24H2 has many known bugs.

As I posted previously, there are keyboards with "game" mode toggles that really do disable the Windows key, even if it's enabled in software. The one I've got is one of the old Logitech G-series with the 18 macro keys off to the left of the main board. Can find 'em relatively cheap on ebay. As an aside, I'd love for some enterprising soul to make a macropad with mechanical switches specifically for ffxi multiboxers and make it play nicely with Binder. Yeah that was the fix for me, but then if you hit it while in game it can bother you

I just had to update to stupid windo 11 and just wondering if anyone came up with a solution to it :( Thanks, Asura.Sechs said: » Asura.Luckyseven said: » Anyone else experiencing issues where you're not able to use all keys after tabbing? It happens when I alt-tab, only sometimes, not always. It's like commands from the keyboard aren't fully working, like the ALT or CTRL macros tabs are "stuck" on screen, and I can't do anything until I press once the ALT or the CTRL key. At that point the on-screen macro disappears and I can go back to regularly use my keyboard for all sort of inputs. I just tried loading Windower and this problem completely went away for me. Seems I only have this issue on Ashita. You can still freely alt-tab back and forth between 2 applications if one of them displays previews, the issue is that the current place in tab order never resets while hitting the combination in an effected application. Enabling windows key in ashita enables the window previews, which solves the primary problem and allows you to swap back and forth. The bug likely still exists in circumstances where previews cannot be shown, but I can alt-tab as usual now. I also have snap windows disabled, Show tabs from apps when snapping set to don't show tabs, and title bar window shake off, FWIW. I don't know why this would be the case, but check similar setting in windower. Could be something to do with the way alt-tab is internally coded. On the technical side, what this setting does is enable the DISCL_NOWINKEY flag in the SetCooperativeLevel call of the game's IDirectInputDevice8 object. I assume windower's works the same way, but if not this should be all the info they need to offer you a fix. Just installed on a new PC, can you spoonfeed me a retard proof way to set this up for windower? It's so annoying. I will try :) launcher windower, click the pencil icon to edit the profile then go to the advanced table and set "Allow Windows Key" to On ![]() This will mean that your windows key presses will go to the rest of the PC, which makes it messy to try and use the windows key as a modifier for key binds. The biggest complaint from people who face this issue is that they use windows key for binds, and as such they have muscle memory that they do not want to retrain. Yeah that's exactly what I'm saying. You can't trigger it if you do that.
Thankfully I don't use too many binds so I adjusted ok. |
