If you really want to fix the "illegal immigration problem" tell your politicians to work on a policy that freezes the issuance of visa's to all applicants and increase the severity in the penalty for overstaying.
The Border wall is just an excuse to waste taxpayer money in a construction boondoggle. If you really wanted illegal immigration from the southern border to end you just need to enforce the laws regarding employers who employee illegal immigrants, and increase the penalties thereof.
