If it is in fact a DDoS, it is extremely coincidental that the first wave of r0s started shortly after their maintenance during which they were 'Exchanging network equipment' on the 17th, then once the issue was made known they did another maintenance for 'Exchange of server equipment' on the 23rd. May also be related to their translation team, but one would expect them to say Upgrade rather than exchange to put it in a more positive light.
I mean starting with the bold: they've had outages before where they stated blatantly that it was network equipment failure.
As for the latter: some of been bitching of R0's for months, /shrug
'some' bitching is pretty typical, ISPs have trouble, people's connections have trouble, it hasn't been widespread until the recent changes

Some sure, but I mean a lot of people have been bitching hardcore for months. Obviously not like yesterday's fiasco but constant.
I don't have faith in their word, just saying I don't have evidence to the contrary and basing it on what people HAVE been bitching about.

The exact results depend on their network implementation, but that does not mean it is regional. As I stated yesterday, I had 12 characters logged in from the same PC/IP and 10 of them d/ced while the other 2 didn't.
If you've kept 5 characters logged in, consider yourself lucky. It is a very small sample size.
This R0/dc issue Seems to be server/area specific....I just d/c and unable to log 2/3 character back, getting "unable to connect to area server" message. Checked AH and found Some JP seems to shout certain zone being down and don't enter zone....

Got Disconnected in the middle of zoning out of Ambu - Have not been able to login for the past 15ish mins now.
Logged completely out - still no dice; others from my LS are logged in and dont seem to have an issue.

JP are shouting that if you search and find 0 person in that zone don't enter. Because that zone is down.
