The American electorate has the memory of a gnat.
I still doubt him firing Mueller would cause any more of a blue wave than we're already expecting. A lot of conservative voters think the Mueller probe is a waste of time and money, not to mention a witch hunt.

Also, apparently police could arrest a sitting president, as it has happened before with Grant but with the Secret Service, they'd never have a chance to approach to make the arrest.
