heavy DD set got dt/offensive stats. Mage set got all of the magic defensive stats, including hp/mp. Its cute, but not practical. Just looks like more entry level 119 gear.
Ohh ... I guess you don't know what Ambuscade gear is then ...
It's all entry level gear, Sulvia sucked ballz for any real DD, it's only use was for new folks returning or as a -DT set. Same with the other set that was released, sucked hard core for anyone who already played those jobs but was good entry level stuff. This is no different, it's entry level gear for BRD/WHM/SMN with the occasional one useful piece.
It actually beat my expectations by a large margin as the defensive stats make it invaluable to career WHMs, possibly even BRD's cause they do run in and out of range a lot.
And here is my prediction now .... the next two sets will also be entry level gear that's primary stats are already beaten by other high end gear sets. So if you have any misplaced hopes for Morigans or Skadi just stop and cry right now. Might as well get all your disappointment and teenage angst out of your system.

You're being negative. That set had regen+10 on the body. What more do you want?
Not sure if being sarcastic.
DT-8%, just like Sulevia's.
-DT will save your life a lot more often than regen.
By Boshi 2016-06-07 01:12:15
That's a pretty stupid amount of magic evasion and magic def. bonus on the Marduk. Geez. Ya worth it for that alone imo! 575 magic evasion and 41 MDB. The prior best I knew of is augmented telchine for 531 magic evasion and 25 MDB and I already knew people that would use such a set to do things like avoid stuns even landing on sovreign behemoth... I think it's a good set, heavy armor set was for PDT, Marduk set is for MDT and magic evasion.
Also tho ppl are gonna lol at this... The usukane set has -extremely- high physical evasion on all the pieces.

The MEVD is far more valuable then -DT
-DT only reduces damage, which WHM can already easily do. MEVD not only reduces damage but it stops crippling status ailments too. On all my jobs I've stated including large amounts of MEVD into my "ohh ***" sets to amazing effects. Vex / Attunment are broke for a reason.

No new reward item for the new quest, potential to be second adoulin ring. With those prereqs I'm almost hoping it gives you all of them, goddamn. I'm two months from capped coalitions, haven't done half those quests, haven't done mog gardens at all, and will have to go back and do all the various *** assignments I skipped. Ugh. Even a second ring would be nice though, could pick up Vocane on both characters.

Funny how people complained whenever a piece of gear was obsoleted like during Delve days but when there's a small increase in these new sets, people complain they aren't ridiculously overpowered enough. It's like that DEV team can't ever win lol. I remember people saying "yeah then next month all the gear is beaten by something new!"
Really glad they removed almost all the stupid RL day/week waits with this update, what else is left now that was like that?

A piece with any sort of pet stats at all. This set has one, why didn't it have anything at all for PUP?
That's fair, though to also be fair, they have 1 more BP damage than unaugmented helios or apogee legs and 5 less than enticers pants and nothing else. It throws a bone to people new to the job or returning players but it's not like it's job breaking :P Still I do understand your point. Edit: Hmm that is a lot of bp dmg for a foot slot though still not top of the line.

I'm completely okay with sidegrades and reduced vertical progression right now. There were a lot of significant increases in power level over the past few years and especially with Escha gear, I'm glad they're dialing it back a bit. Quality and quantity of new content are perhaps a bit lacking, but there's only so much you can expect there at this point in the game's life.
Usukane set did feel somewhat undertuned though, as it has very few practical uses. This set at least fills a niche and carries a few nice utility stats to boot.

Holy ***that's a lot of Magic Evasion / MDB with some MDT splashed for ~whatever~. This is actually a very good thing as the hardest fights in the game have NM's that use moves with ranges over 20 feet. Our WHM's frequently get hit by dumb stuff and just have to shrug it off. This gives WHM's Rune Fencer levels of durability against magic attacks.
WHM is a mules job, Yagrush mules onry

I don't really understand the Rhapsodies of Vana'diel changes. If I got a party together previously I could complete the missions as they were before just fine. The point of making things easier should be so that I can complete it solo.

Really you should have been doing Mog Gardens for Monster Rearing.

Well, that's because Adoulin started out incredibly rocky, dropping "lol@your new gear" bombs on us update after update. They deserved that reaction.
Largely in reference to the Sulevia's vs Usuwhatitsname set, they nailed a solid set for up-and-coming DRK/WAR/DRG and even returning PLDs and then they came along with Usu and it was mediocre in comparison.
I've always believed that the game should have catch-up sets. It's nice that new PLDs don't have to go farm old stop-gap stuff and can get something that has some longevity and cross-job use.
So basically there it is: People cried when SE was like "To the sky we go!" and people are crying again when SE says "Hey, here's this set, it's not that bad but it should be better" for the up-and-comers and people missing pieces on alternate jobs.

So its just a defensive set for BRD - WHM.
You can bank on the fact I will have a magic evasion set with all of this in it for SMN. Amnesia or Paralyze are crippling death causing status effects for SMN, not to mention the normal cruddy ones like terror, petrify, long stuns etc. Yes you can usually avoid being in range on SMN if there's that sort of danger, but being able to live through those oh ***moments and pull out a win or recover is what gear like this would be for anyway.
By Elazar1 2016-06-07 01:30:48
I will do HQ only because of the capes and some good items for my Alts brd.

Sulevia's was really really bad though, the missing haste made it a huge downgrade from something as old as Acro. Without as stupid expensive haste +14 belt you weren't going to be capped, whereas any other set would cap with a haste +3%/4 belt. The whole set had 10% haste... which is unheard of since Abyssea. People just see the high Acc/Atk/STR/VIT/DT and thing it's a great set or something...

The set have not cure potency or healing magic skill. Ok regen potency.... Well i say probably its decent to WHM. God i will have use this ***the next month to get me gear =/
So its just a defensive set for BRD - WHM.
First time probably not doing HQ set.
It's a great defensive set for BRD / WHM and a decent enfeebling / magic accuracy set. There are obviously better stuff from Augmented or Abjuration gear but seeing how SE is basically handing out Ambuscade gear it's pretty reasonable.
I'm just waiting for the reactions when Morrigan doesn't have MAB 100, MACC 100, MBB 20, INT 80 on every piece.

I'd much rather they trade Haste for -Damage Taken than Acc for Damage Taken which is a common trend.
I can make up half of the haste cap in one slot, can't do that with acc (not that their is a acc cap).
Ambuscade capes having Haste +10% are an option as well.
And speaking for the players that this was most beneficial to, returning players, I'd rather have them alive and swinging than dead in their four-hit build.

This set is at least better than that monstrosity they tried to pass off as Usukane. I am still in awe at how tremendously they *** up that set.
To be fair, Hizamaru set had only one truly useless piece (hands). Definitely more of a set with 1-2 pieces per job though.
Head: good TP piece for a non delay-capped PUP or MNK (particularly PUP with less choices & no access to Dampening Tam/Adhemar Bonnet)
Body: great idle regen piece
Legs: BiS WS piece for many WS
Feet: NIN DW option if not getting capped magical haste (not entirely unrealistic these days, unfortunately)
I mean, yeah, Sulevia set was overall more useful, but I think we've all realized now that the ambuscade gear seems like it isn't meant to blow away previous BiS Reisenjima/Abjuration gear so much as it is intended to be decent baseline stuff for more casual players, with a piece or two per job that ends up BiS for some applications.
For the new Inyanga+1 set, I'll use 4/5 pieces for WHM (I don't know BRD SMN enough to weigh in):
- Head for regen
- Body for FC and Macc (I think it's 2nd best WHM enfeebling body behind only a well augmented Chironic?)
- Hands again for Macc/enfeebles (MND+44/Macc+37/Skill+18 is fantastic)
- Feet for Macc/enfeebles (Chironic would have to get augments of MND+6/Macc+36 to be even)
Even legs aren't a terrible enfeeble piece, looks like 2nd place to only Chironic with decent augments. Chironic are pretty beastly (base MND+29/MAcc+20/Enfeebling+13, PLUS augs), but Inyanga+1's MND+35/Macc+39 is nothing to scoff at.

The new Adoulin quest is actually an RoE objective: Find where Ygnas has been running off to. That's the clue from the quest log.

Oh no doubt, that's why this is all "new player" gear that should be replaced ASAP and never used full time. I think their idea was that new DD's would make a Haste +10% cape to go with a common Haste +5% belt and be set. If a melee needs to full time a DT set then they shouldn't' be meleeing in the first place. Defensive sets are things you swap into real quick to reduce a nasty TP move or give the healer time to catch up after a nasty TP move. They aren't meant for full time use.

Does this mean beastcoins or relic currency? Dug about 20 times and got this in Rolanberry Fields:
Had a strong feeling it wasn't going to be as good as it sounds. I shall now retire my chocobo again.

Didn't he run off to somewhere in Yorcia in one of the missions?
