They said updates to minor glitches etc and the updates until November will bring about the main story climax so no more expansions and what not.

Maybe because people like you no doubt will still keep on paying them to play for a game which after November is getting no new content.

So yes play for another year or even two but realise this is the end of content with updates to bugs, and balance fixes.

Listen up dipshit he asked did they say "Did they actually say the game servers are closing?" Which they didn't in fact they said the opposite of that. Is there an end to major development sure there is after November. However that wasn't the question. No they are not closing the servers why would they fools will still pay $ to play a game with no new content incoming.

I myself will enjoy it till November but im not going to sit and lie to myself and pretend it's going to be alright, because as they stated no more new content.

So as most people with sense once they play through the updates from now till November will unsub out of boredom and the game just gets smaller and smaller.

No one ever said they are shutting down the FFXI Servers. Only that they are releasing a mmo mobile app and a story line that will link them all together. I have no idea where people got the idea that FFXI ends in November. Are they going to release the final missions to link them all together then shut down the servers in the same month? No. They are just going to let the game play as-is until they finally do just shut it down. Which is fine for me, I never played for the story lines anyways.

They'll likely add a new legendary line of weapons in november that takes 10xtime of mythics so that people will stick around for as long as possible.

Nobody knows anything till its final so every person on each side of the isle is speculating. Call it denial or optimism it really shouldn't matter. hell who knows the game may even go free to play.

Correct we only know as much as they told us and that is no new content after November, it's se this may change who knows.

Got it. How many times you want to preach the END IS NIGH IN NOVEMBER!?!?!?!?! You have no idea what gameplay will remain or what wont. At the same time neither do I, but to needlessly preach on and on about the end of the game in November when in all actuality you dont *** know is getting old and boring. The only thing we 100 percent solid as a rock know is that there will be no more major developments for FFXI after November 2015. What that means for the life of the game no one can say. Everything is speculation.

Honestly why are you so vested in making people feel that their hobby is over November. How about we wait and see what we get between here and there. Most likely you are correct that FFXI will end but not in November. Most likely there will be a good solid 2 years of game play. Or hell maybe there wont be. No one knows so its false to say its over when it isn't just as its false to say its not over.

The game is going to dwindle subscribers it just is. However the servers are not going to be turned off in November.

Would be a good idea to help milk foolish fans for all they're worth, yeah.

There was a free server so someone has seen the code. I would imagine its probably a nightmare.

The free server doesn't have the actual code. It's just modeled off how things seem to work.

Maybe I'm interpreting this in the wrong way but I guess I am seeing things a bit differently.

They are dropping PS2/XBOX support a year from now, after producing new content for them. One would assume that if the game was purely in maintenance mode that it would take little effort to continue to support those additional platforms, while not dropping any subscribers. New assets wouldn't need to be created for these platforms if it was purely in bug fix mode which one would assume would be the bulk of the work to continue supporting those platforms. I don't know why they would drop a portion of the subscriber base that takes little to no effort to maintain, unless they are trying to continue to add new stuff to the game moving forward just with a smaller dev team.

Really I'm seeing this as an hedging on SE's part. They've bought themselves 9 months to try to get people to convert to 14, without having closed the door on 11. If it turns out there isn't a mass exodus, they still have the option to continue to fully support 11, while at the same time having gotten the ball rolling on dropping the older platforms and reducing the effort required to continue to support it.

Is that a single player version of 11? I will buy the ***out of that if so. I didn't watch the conference so I'm not really sure of about the details of grandmasters.

It's just a mobile phone game inspired by XI's lore and aesthetic that they have no plans of releasing outside of Japan.

Quit and do what????? Some people only play and will only play one game. I only play 9-11 at night and IF this game ends I'll just watch tv or sleep earlier.

When did you become the fun police and get to decide what a person does for their own enjoyment. Why do you even post here? It's been over a year since you quit don't you have anywhere else to be? So maybe its time you ask yourself why do you even post.
