Final expansion or final scenarios?
Okay, so go back for a second, PC support will last beyond 360 and PS2 will, and after the last version up, but in what capacity? Will it go ftp then? Will it go offline? Private servers then? That's what I want to know now...
I think they want to make it better for PC.. they kept saying over and over how it was gonna be a "Version up" in direct translation
So in summary for people who are just catching up:
-In May, they will begin releasing a series of three add-on scenarios. These will be the final add-on/expansion packs for Final Fantasy XI.
-Service will not end after these are finished, but PS2 and Xbox 360 support is being dropped in March of 2016.
-Major content updates will be no more after the add-on scenarios and Adoulin content is finished.
-They will be releasing a mobile phone game involving Final Fantasy XI in which you can play with your friends from Vana'Diel.

"Version Up" could well be a graphics overhaul and the UI overhaul.

I don't understand why they would overhaul the graphics on a game they will not be releasing new content for in less than a year?
The "version up" is in relation to the scenario release schedule. They're being released as so:

As a company they have been saying for couple years they wanted to move their focus to mobile gaming as they see it being better money. This just seems like taking it to extreme.

The problem has been SE makes outrageous budgets for their games and then expect completely unreasonable returns on them what has ended up hurting the company. I'm not sure they ever really fully recovered from the 14 mess that they basically had bet the company on investing into it. So now they thinking mobile is the way to go.
The mobile game doesn't even look bad, don't see why everyone's in an uproar here

I'd play the mobile game if it adds areas that we haven't already seen. But the console/pc version is essentially over after the last 3 add ons, which will probably just be lame reskins like Abyssea.
A mobile game? Really? It probably won't even come to NA/EU.

Good lord... They are already shilling the hell out of this mobile game by saying a bunch of crap that's a given for MMO... "Bosses are tough, so form a party of four".
I fully expect "Giant enemy crab" and "Attack its weak point for big damage" next.

When all of the Grandmasters charas already look taru-like (FF Tactics-style SD) they have to make the tarutaru even tinier to compensate... :p

The mobile game actually catches my attention. The whole reason I want an offline mode is because I don't have a solid internet connection all the time, so any time I get to spend playing, I cherish. Being able to have an offline version would be awesome, so this really does have me kind of excited to try it, just to see what it's like.
