Most of the major news networks are lolworthy, but I find it interesting that Fox News is gaining viewership while the rest are losing it. Should make for an interesting 2016 if the trend continues.

Whatever. You're going to keep feeling targeted anyway whatever the circumstance. Any call for rationality will just feed into that, apparently.

Sure, let's bring rationality into it. Whenever you "call out" or "target" someone, ~100% of the time it's a conservative. That gives me one of two conclusions.

1. The only people who ever do anything wrong are conservatives.
2. You only target conservatives.

I don't feel targeted by the mods, but they can speak for themselves. You, however, are not the person to be saying that there isn't a target bias when you're one of the worst offenders.

I asked you to stop. Then there came a page of the typical "LIBS LIBS LIBS" nonsense. If you'd like to resume the on-topic discussion, you can elaborate on why you think this program won't impact public safety in any meaningful way.

I was unaware an epidemic of traffic accidents have been occurring due to illegal immigrants driving illegally.. Oh wait.. theirs not.. Since you are more than happy to say getting illegal immigrants legal to drive will increase public safety. I would have to say getting them legal to drive will only decrease public safety since the DMV is gonna be pushing them through like cattle. If you think they are gonna be passing their drivers test with above avg. marks you are greatly mistaken. Not to mention the drivers test at the DMV is already a joke to start with. All this is doing is giving them yet another reason to hope the border over and over again since they can now brazenly walk right into a state run office and NOT get deported for it. Not like that matters though because the can already walk into a federally run office and get free food and medical.. smh.

I think you dont understand that any foreign national with proper documentation (Forged or not) can legally walk into any state building and receive the same benefits as a citizen of this country (depending on what country they are from, etc.). Foreign nationals assumed to be legal residents are required to apply for drivers licenses in the state they reside if they expire while they are here or if they have stayed the usual required time to be considered a resident of that state (Until then, their foreign license acts as a substitution here). Its for the exact same reasons Pleebo suggested, safety and to make sure foreign nationals understand our rules of the road (Signs are universal, driving laws are not even from a state by state basis). Allowing Illegal aliens to seek licensing (Note: "Illegal Aliens" is a broad umbrella term, it does not just mean people who have crossed the boarder illegally.) follows that same standard and offers consistency for a necessary state safety standard.

I skimmed the first page :|

Illegal Immigrants are foreign nationals who immigrated or are still here through the process of immigration without proper documentation. This includes those who no longer have valid visas but still remain. It very well applies to foreign nationals, because US citizens dont immigrate back to the united states unless they left and claimed dual citizenship (Which would then make them foreign nationals also).

But either way, theyd still be required to apply for a license in the state they reside (Except for some other cases where they still have a valid License from their mother country) to be legally driving in the US. Just as any naturally born, naturalized, or visa'd citizen.

To the contrary, come here legally and I'd be one of the first in line to shake their hand and welcome them to the country as an American citizen.
I guarantee that you're one of the people opposed to streamlining the immigration process. I feel almost certain I could find posts on this site pointing to exactly that if I wanted. But, again, as I said, why not get them trained and licensed as a pre-cursor to citizenship? You skipped gaily past that point.

Um... swap the words and isn't that literally what the alleged conservatives do? I mean, your lot literally use the word "liberal" as though it was synonymous with "child-murderer," then chuck the word around casually at anyone whose opinion minutely varies.

How come you only argue with certain people on this website, and more often than not, show a lot of anger in those posts?

I wasn't disputing him, though. I was simply pointing out that it's a two-way street and you right-wing martyrs have a nasty habit of ignoring that you do exactly the same thing that you whine about others. I'd call it projection except both sides do it.

Asura.Kingnobody said: »

First off, I argue with anyone, even people with whom I partially agree. I can't think of a single user who frequents this sub-forum with whom I haven't debated, argued, or otherwise disputed.

There's a variation on confirmation bias at play here: since you're often on the opposite side of a debate, you have developed a cognitive error in which you imagine that your opposition is specific to you or your platform. For instance, you imagined that I was telling Ravael he was wrong or something.

Secondly, the anger is because it gets your attention. When I feign outrage, people actually respond. When I make a calm post, it gets shuffled away by the image macros and deliberate distractions. It's just a rhetorical tactic.

Funny, really, because it's one of the ones most commonly employed by politicians. One would almost think the regulars in P&R have never actually studied politics and political science...

Along that line, I'd like to point out that my comment was specifically directed at Pleebo. If it had been you (Onorgul) or someone like Jet that had made the comment, I probably wouldn't have said anything. All of us P&R regulars play the "us vs. them" game at times and I am willing to own up to that on my own end, but I'm not going to sit here and let someone who has done nothing but target conservatives chastise us for "feeling targeted".

I'm not sure how one posts a divisive opinion on a forum without "feeling targeted," though. That's what's so mind-boggling about the situation.

You're complaining that German snipers keep trying to shoot you as you hunker down in your trench on the west side of the Somme but you keep popping your head up and lighting cigars. What exactly do you expect?

By the by, using the general "you" there, not specific to anyone in particular.

Well, since you're *** moron, it's not surprising that the bone-stupid logical explanation would fail to appease you.

Here's a nice conspiratorial explanation that should suit your reflex xenophobia: it'll let the government more easily track all those filthy illegals so they can round them up and load them into a cannon that shoots them into the Sun. Or, hey, by getting them into the system, maybe we can a.) drag them kicking and screaming into citizenship or b.) keep track of how much they're trying to leach from us and eventually present the bill or its equivalent in incarceration. I'm assuming you're in favor of locking up anyone who looks at you funny, much less who breaks the law.

You lost all of my respect with that huge insult hurl.

I'd rather the *** borders be maintained to prevent people from immigrating illegally, if someone tries to come in, you shoot them with either a non lethal round, a tranq dart so you can safely move them to a facility to explain their new situation, or my favorite, salt rounds.

Illegal immigration posts a huge threat to countries due to the fact that we don't know who these people are, what kind of diseases they carry (if they carry them.) or if they have some kind of affiliation with a cartel in a direct or indirect way.

Make a statement that people can no longer illegally cross the border, then it just becomes a matter of taking care of the interior.

If someone takes the time to pass through the legal citizenship process, I'd invite them over to welcome them, they at least had the decency to follow the laws. Whenever someone immigrated illegally, that's a slap in the real citizens' faces.

Because you know, that mindset is working. Not really, but people can dream right?

What you do is this: Stop treating every immigrant like theyre a walking bag of diseases and criminal intent and you end the main source of income for the drug cartels and limit their demand in the area where the demand is highest. You dont treat people answering the call of the american dream like animals because they struggle to get here (Which is the first part of that fabled dream, that if you struggle long and hard enough you will be better for it).

I get what you're saying. You can't post in P&R without a target on your head, and I came to terms with that a long time ago. I don't think it accurately describes this particular situation, however, because the issue is about the moderators targeting groups based on political alignment, which should never happen due to "divisive opinions" alone. Again, that's not my fight since I'm conservative and have never been banned from anything. Although I suspect if we continue on this derail such could be the case, lol.
