Revert Ffxi |

revert ffxi
given the chance, would you, without anyone knowing anything about it, revert ffxi to an older version? No one knowing anything past that point and the current population of then coming back, all knowledge you know would stay with you, but it was as if you saw the (ffxi) future?
I'd revert it to the point right before SoA's release.
That, or to right before the Ukko's/blood rage nerf :p I'd go to when Delve 1 was new because that's when I personally had the most fun in the game. Dat first Tojil win. Skype sounded like a bunch of schoolgirls.
Also no easymodo ilevel I'd revert to November 2002 and find something else to do.
2004, sell $50/m gil off barone exploit and ***on ffxi-app

Edit: Tav access not sea. XD I'd revert to 2006 when wotg came out, I mean, it gave a good alternative camp to crawler's nest and gave more than just besieged for when nobody could pt
I would. I would revert to the level 75 days when people had to work damn hard for levels and there was a huge difference between the hard core players and the casual players. When it felt amazing to get something that would take you forever to get. When camping an NM for a drop was satisfying. When there was the comraderie in Linkshells and Competition.
I think just the reduced run speed alone would send me packing.
At least I didn't know any better back then. Cerberus.Dierdren said: » I would. I would revert back just before the release of Seekers of Adoulin. Granted, the story is okay. I don't care for what the new content has done to/for the player-base in the game. Its bottle-necked progress for a lot of us that have full-time careers outside ffxi and allowed hordes of self centered unemployed slobs and temperamental teenagers to advance and rob others of progress in order to indulge in a false sense of superiority. I know this seems counter-intuitive and a little scary, and it should be.
_ the game sucks *** now. I would rather install attic insulation in the middle of the day in a 115 degree summer then participate in any new endgame content. Sometimes I help a friend by participating in new content, and if I do: 1. Alcohol helps. Its a good *** filter and aids my eyes in protecting my heart. 2. The golden rule. Treat others as they should be treated. This rule has made me very unpopular with people I really don't care about. Honestly, FFXI wouldn't gain many people in any scenario (Other than a full upgrade of the system.)
FFXI players are mostly those who joined very early on and returned, it's very uncommon that new players join XI now. The best things they can do is keep it fun for the old members and add things to interest new ones. Would I revert FFXI? No, because it'd be way behind other MMOs today, it was god back then, but it was back then. Abyssea was difficult until it wasn't, which I assume was the point. There was a lack of motivation for any difficult content released concurrently or afterward, though, and that persisted for quite some time.
I'd like to experience the start of Abyssea again, I honestly think that was the point where I had the most fun in the game.
Back when nobody knew about triggers and everything was really hard and new. But it would'nt like that for long, which is kind of sad :< how you gonna call abyssea difficult when we duo-trioed like, the entire thing as it came out

Abby was the most fun. It had something for everyone. Exp, armor for all, nms, atmas, quested items, new weapon skills, no other event has do e this. Take SoA. No new ws, no new armor forvspecific jobs. No atmas, no roaming nms to be afraid of. Toss soa, make an abby zones of ah whitegate zones. Can make it new ws, or unlock campain and besieged ws. Can add new armor set all jobw. Have nms popped and roaming. How could you call salvage difficult. Even in its infantcy, spam a mnk and whm. To easy for gear, abby much harder. Abyssea was casual central. And that's OK, casual is good, but a game needs difficult content to keep the other far end of the spectrum entertained. You could say maybe something like Rani was "hard" before everyone unlocked their free brews, but overall difficulty wise, Abyssea did not cut it in any sense.
i disagree with it being fun, my opinion is that its existence from start to finish was a mockery of skill, illusion of success, and lastingly frustrating coming from the perspective of someone who had to build the first VW, legion, and delve parties at each respective launch.(vw and legion not so much as linkshells were more intact at launch of those events, as compared to start of delve) people would actually get angry at ME for calling them out (politely, i might add) that they didnt have what i was looking for to be successful in said event. the lasting effects are still visible to this day.
i do however see your point, certain things about it were positive. but you should at least be able to agree that those particular contents could have been introduced differently. angrykitty said: » self centered unemployed slobs and temperamental teenagers to advance and rob others of progress in order to indulge in a false sense of superiority Just cause you don't have what you want you take it on those who do assuming they live 24/7 in game(and they also must be all jerks!), well maybe there are some who do, but the majority don't. Stop envying, start working. Or gtfo, either is fine. |
