Spoilers!
Was I the only one disappointed in this film? Godzilla is a film that should never have been remade any of the half a dozen times it has. They will never top the original (which is more iconic than good). If you go to a godzilla or king kong remake and have high expectations, prepare to be disappointed.
Don't forget about Godzilla vs blackzilla.
I liked it better than most reboots. :I
I liked "Fat" Godzilla.
I thought the visual effect were awesome. I loved how they super enhanced the visuals on the monsters. I thought there was a decent story line. I loved the Atomic Breath. How he killed the one monster I HATED that over 123 minutes....... there was probably 15 minutes of monster fighting and 1/2 of that was probably on the television sets in the movie. I hated every time that guy and a monster stared in each other eyes. I wanted to throw my phone into the screen. WHERE THE HELL WAS THE CLASSIC GODZILLA SHUFFLE?! Just got back from seeing this movie, I was disappointed. Had potential to be much better.
Just got back from seeing it. I thought it sucked pretty hard. From the Moment Bryan Cranston's character was killed off, it was pretty lame.
Some good Godzilla beatdowns with a Shoop Da Woop finisher, but seriously, every time I got my Kaiju ***, that dumbass little Brody would be on screen playing world's worst soldier. Also, was he Kick *** from Kick ***? overall 3/10 would not bang. suckas
generally all remakes are terrible and literally designed for you to fork over stupid money To be fair to the new Godzilla, they at least kept it thematically true to the old JPONRY ones. With the monsters representing indifferent forces of nature, with humans only making a bad situation worse.
It really would have been one of the best remakes had the entire arc of the main human character been cut. huh.... the last king kong was the best ever! jack black need I say more?

Which is pretty much the same problem the Transformers movies are having. If I'm going to see a movie about Transformers, I don't want to see more of Shia LaBeouf than the things the movie is named after. If I'm going to see a Godzilla movie, I don't want to sit around for an hour or more while they flesh out the back story of a character I don't give a crap about. Moar radioactive dinosaur, plz. trust me, I hate shia labeouf alot, but theres way more problems with transformers then just him...
new Godzilla was ok.....(10000 times better then the 1998 version we saw) I give it a 7/10... my real major complaints, not enough monster fighting, and also no Bogota being smashed. Alot of people were upset at the fact that they made him a good guy in this movie.... and also people were complaining about the humans in the movie, makes me even wonder if most people have even seen the godzilla movies besides the 1s we got in america... We have a character nobody cares about and major plot holes... MOAR EXPLOSIONS! I was waiting for someone to say "Godzilla" and then Ken Watanabe said it and the only thing that popped in my head was.
Coming next summer Godzilla in 3D with 30% new footage.

Granted the OP does say "spoilers," but when you click something it goes to the bottom, not the top. Fumiku said: » Spoilers! Was I the only one disappointed in this film? Yes I personally didn't like it and I would not recommend it to anyone. There's about 15-20 minutes of a good movie and the rest is crap.
for me, the actions scenes and special effects were like 10/10, easy. the movie as a whole I want to give it 5/10 but i'll give it the benefit of the doubt that it was putting me to sleep because it was hella late at night for me so i'll give it a 6/10 as whole.
I loved it and I strongly recommend it to anyone. (Not kidding.)

Granted the OP does say "spoilers," but when you click something it goes to the bottom, not the top. It's not really a spoiler. They telegraph his death in all the posters. Anytime your cast lineup says "And <person>" they die too early. Joking aside, it's probably better people know going in, because he does a damn fine job every moment he's on screen, and if you're expecting that level of power through the entire film, disappoint imminent. Sadly, the new Transformers movie, which adds in the Dinobots, looks like it'd be a better film than this one.
I love the new Godzilla. Every scene he was in was excellent. I knew people would complain about the human storytelling but they had to do it because this is the introduction for another Godzilla franchise. If anything it broke box office records and a sequel was announced today by Warner/Legendary. And also people who complain about the movie doing human storytelling make me laugh...because every damn Godzilla film has done this. Only thing different is that it's 2014. ALSO...the roar scared the hell out of everyone in my theater. Had goosebumps! Great film!
