But seriously, if you ever want a good taco joint, ask a local. I know several in SA, but there is only 1 that is the best in the state in my eyes and that's out in the middle of nowhere. Don't like to triple post, but my boyfriend's mother told me this bit, and I hold it true: She said, go where all the mexicans eat, and you'll get good mexican food. Hasn't failed yet. Yeah, but you got to watch where you eat.
There are two types of...Hispanics....yeah, let's use that word....in the state. The dry ones and the wet ones.
Dry ones usually go to the milder restaurants. The wet ones go to the homestyle restaurants. Homestyle are usually the ones that give you bad runs, even for us locals.
I deal with out-of-state people all the time, half my firm is from out of state. I have to take them to the milder ones while I go eat at the better ones when alone.

Lol, I'm just trying to dispel rumors about McDonald's, as when I worked the early shift I usually had an Egg McMuffin and an iced coffee for breakfast, sometimes sausage if I was out early.

Every place I've been to has been fantastic, with no stomach problems. Even went to a *I think* Guatemalan restaurant, and that stuff would make some mexican stuff look tame in terms of spice. So good though.

Go to Waco next time, that's a quick drive (for us locals, a quick drive = less than an hour away).
And damn it, now I'm in the mood for Mexican!

Well back onto topic, I think it would be a fantastic idea if they have the people to support it.
Depending on the area, it might not be worth it. (They wanted to make our McDonald's open until Midnight, which they did, and they're seeing no profit).
So it only might happen at more popular restaurants where profit can be made.
Also wanted to Edit add: All the extra stuff they have left over between switch is all thrown away. If something sits longer than it's "shelf life" in the heating area, it's tossed. That affects the food cost / profit as well and like I said, if they sell everything they make, you'll be seeing more restaurants serving breakfast longer.

Jack-in-the-Box sells breakfast/dinner all the time. Their only problem is the food and service.

That one word put me in the mood for Czech Stop in West!
EDIT: Ummm...So, you don't live in SA? It isn't less than an hour between SA and Waco. It takes me an hour-and-a-half going 75, and that's a straight shot on 35.

We had chicken strips that lasted longer than a shift constantly.

Why don't you just go to a local restaurant on the weekends? Way way tastier food for a breakfast special and cheaper. Not for breakfast and sometimes I wanna just eat at home not eat out and be alone..../so lonely...

We had chicken strips that lasted longer than a shift constantly. I worked a lot of Breakfast shifts as a manager, so I didn't deal with the chicken a lot (when I first started managing, we had a chicken buscuit, which was pretty awesome, but because it never sold, and we were constantly tossing them, they axed it).
But yeah, the strips went quick, but luckily our store sold a lot of crispy chicken wraps, so we were able to sell them (most of the time) before they got "bad".
Not all stores are like that, but yeah, I try to avoid the ones where I know stuff "sits". Also, I only order fries if I see a fresh batch come up (I like fresh fries, also I was one of the few people that tossed them after 3 minutes, and got yelled at for "Raising food cost" ....wut)

Quote: McDonald's is in the early stages of looking at whether it can make breakfast available later in the day.
Fans of the Egg McMuffin and Sausage Biscuit have long wanted the option to get breakfast at McDonald's after 10:30 a.m. But offering both the breakfast and lunch menu was considered logistically impossible, given the tight kitchen spaces of the restaurants.
Still, it's an option the chain is eyeing more seriously at a time when people's eating habits are changing — particularly those coveted customers in their 20s and 30s known as Millennials.
"We know, as an example, that breakfast on the weekend cut off at 10:30 doesn't go very well," Jeff Stratton, head of McDonald's USA, said in an interview.
Stratton declined to provide any details on how McDonald's would adjust kitchen operations to make breakfast later in the day.
"Well, we're just beginning. ... We're just taking a look at it," he said.
Taco Bell Breaks Out of Shell With New Morning Menu
A representative for McDonald's, Lisa McComb, said after the interview that there are no tests currently in place for the extended breakfast hours.
McDonald's has long entertained the idea of serving breakfast throughout the day. But the chain has been inching closer to making the idea a reality as it faces heightened competition and slumping sales. Last year, for example, the company began offering an "After Midnight" menu at select locations. The menu, available from midnight to 4 a.m., consisted of a limited mix of breakfast and lunch items so kitchen operations wouldn't be overwhelmed.
The push to make breakfast outside normal hours also reflects how McDonald's is working to keep pace with shifting habits. In particular, executives have noted that customers increasingly want foods personalized to their tastes and schedules.
To cater to evolving tastes, the chain is also offering newer items such as chicken McWraps and the option to substitute egg whites in any breakfast sandwich.
As for extending its breakfast hours, McDonald's is known for treading extremely carefully when discussing any tests or potential changes. Such matters are considered sensitive in large part because they would require the support of the company's network of franchisees.
In the U.S., about 90 percent of the company's more than 14,000 U.S. restaurants are run by franchisees, who bear the responsibility of training employees and buying new equipment to accommodate any changes.
Hoping that they do extend hours, tired of sleeping in (totally my fault) and rushing to McDonalds before 10:30 on weekends. >_>
Anyone else happy or hoping that they do?
