I chuckled at it :P
I chuckled at the part where he said why he expected no complaints. lol
Classic. That guy deserves a medal for that response.
I'd give him mine if I mattered

Ugh.

I feel so bad for the Egyptians right now. Anyone following?

Yup. And then it reminded me of the Iran protests and I ended up watching the video of this poor girl dying (literally) who got shot by a government troop while she was simply standing watching. Made me saaaad.

This world is kinda shitty.

Although, given the rate of rebellions, it's a perfect time to start a new nation.

Hopefully there will be a positive outcome. But in a worst case scenario, Egypt could end up becoming an Islamic rulership, relations with Israel break, and the whole region destabilizes.

Courtesy of the Muslim Brotherhood.

Worse case scenarios suck.

Yeah, it's what Israel is crapping itself over right now. But I think it won't come to that, the impression I got from reports on the street, in general people don't support the brotherhood and just want a proper democracy.

I acknowledge the risk, but I honestly feel like given it's now the majority of Egypt (it was specifically mentioned somewhere today about Coptic and Atheist Egyptians all being out there too) and not just a religious sect jacking the revolution, they have a true shot at their goal.

But if the undercover cops keep this up, the protesters will fail :|

Politics, be it social or economical are boringgggggggggg :|

People rioting in the streets and people dying is not boring :| Especially when it could cause a chain reaction into an even more suckier world than we have already.
Sounds pretty boring from AMERICA!!

But seriously, if it's not effecting my day to day life, I'll be ok in my little room away from the world.

My policy too. :P

You're both idiots if you fail to see how this could potentially impact you.

Edit: To be blunt I'll throw the first number that will impact everyone.
~40% of the worlds oil goes through the Suez Canal located in Egypt.

I'd prefer if more people tried to keep up to date on current affairs but we can't all get what we want.
Even if you hadn't followed Egyptian politics over the past 30 years it's still good to look at the impact of the revolts will have also the potential outcome of a regime change in Egypt. The Middle East is extremely interesting in terms of modern politics. I could talk for much longer about these events but it would be wasted with this audience.

You are correct.

Right now, I just have more important things to worry about than a country's infighting.

You clearly don't seem to put your priorities first with the simple fact that you're sitting at home and not out being productive.

My only worry is as I mentioned with the Muslim Brotherhood, although Al Quaida has ties there too anyway.

I'd hate to see the group responsible for Anwar Sadat's death (ultimately), a huge potential person to help stabalize the mid-east, take hold of what might otherwise be a hopeful change.

You can't honestly be surprised though if people tend to care less. You can be informed but not enraged here, and it's pretty easy to do so.

I suppose that's your point though. ***. It's morning why am I typing. lol
Eh idk I guess it just blows my mind that people push things like that to the side like it means nothing. But all the events playing out over there right now could prove to be major in the coming months/years.
