if you're having issues with the POL ID and password just log into your SE Account you can change the password from there.

Not taking the SE ID/SE Password there either. I have been able to log on a friends account from my machine just now and I have in the past few months every few days as well. Trying to hunt down actual support now..

*I like how the SE Support Center 'Contact' page doesn't actually provide any contact information or chat services. Edit. Found it.

Sometimes there some lag or something, it happens to me a lot, just shutdown everything and give it 20-30 mins and try again. If you feel insecure you should be able to log back into your SE account and change your password. If you can't might want to wait and call SE in the morning.

So i recovered the SE ID/Pass and PlayOnline ID/Pass but all characters have been deleted. Not blaming Guildwork directly, but it is the only somewhat fishy thing i have used in my 8 years and this is the first strange activity ive had so take care.

Java had a SERIOUS issue corrected recently.
Both Flash and Acrobat had updates earlier this week for the same reason.

You probably was victim of a contaminated website and your browser is to blame.

Take recovery action on your PC (sweep it for keyloggers, trojans or viruses)

Request rollback from SE.

And best of luck for you.

I'm not one to defend gw, windower or hacks, but your statement holds nothing as for all we know, you're probably active in gay porn sites and who knows what else that you've been doing for the past 8 years. Seriously, don't be quick to jump and judge, scan your computer with a legit anti-virus programs.

If guildwork was running off with passwords and accounts, we'd see a heck of a lot more of it considering how many people use guildwork.

More likely, is that you visited an FFXI related site and an ad utilizing one of the recent exploits got you. Though if enough stuff is out of date or you have a lack of security, it may not even have needed an exploit.

But do yourself a favor and scan your system well or even reinstall your computer entirely just to make damn sure you removed the keylogger and use a good browser with noscript. You'll have plenty of time to get your computer's security up to par while you wait for a rollback.

The only decent reason I can think of is for people who share their account. Tokens make it pretty much impossible unless you want to give the person a code every time they log on. But not getting your account hacked is worth it and everyone who likes all their shinies should have a token.

I do not use a token because my account is attached to my wife's and we are currently in different locations across the US, I don't think I should need to consult my wife every time I want to log in.

Also in my statement I'm not saying for sure it is GW, but I am saying it is the only thing that has changed recently. When events occur you look for recent changes in behavior etc. not everything else. I never said it is 100% definitely GW, but it is something to consider for anyone that practices logic.

Yes the tokens may seem as an inconvenience but if you get hacked with a "tokened" account, you are guaranteed a free roll back on the account w/o using your 1-time rollback. Extra security is better and less of an inconvenience than what you have to deal with now. So calling your wife every time you wanna play, might not be so bad. Just saying...

Arrogance, or broke.

Lots of people seem to think for some reason the tokens are an attempt to extort money out of them.

Are you sure they have been deleted and aren't just a result of not having an active Character ID due to non payment,

I crapped my pants the first time that happened!

I agree with you, but I'm really at that point where if its done then its done. I think a lot of people are reacting to me as if I'm furious or something, I was just giving a heads up since I discovered the status of the accounts.

LOL I got hacked a month ago or so, and I kind feel the same way, I'm pretty much to the point I don't even care about a rollback, and have been thinking about just uninstalling.
