Imo, not probably what I would have done, but she deserved everything she got. Antagonizing the ***out of him and putting her hands on him (the *** driver no less, who is responsible for the safety of everyone on the bus)

A shocking video circulating on the Internet Friday shows a Cleveland bus driver punching a teenage girl during a verbal altercation. The Cleveland-area transit authority has responded to the incident, confirming that the unidentified driver has been removed from his post and that his behavior was "absolutely unacceptable."
"We also saw the video today. Upon review, the driver was removed from duty and suspended. We are investigating," Mary Shaffer, spokeswoman for the greater-area Cleveland RTA, told The Cleveland Leader.
The video, filmed by a fellow bus rider and posted on the website World Star Hip Hop, begins with showing an unidentified teenage girl wearing all black engaging in a verbal dispute with a seated bus driver.
As the dispute escalates, the driver then makes a comment to the teenager which prompts the girl to aggressively touch the bus driver.
The bus driver then stands up and begins walking toward the girl, repeatedly saying, "You're going to jail now."
Suddenly, the driver delivers a heavy uppercut to the unsuspecting young woman.
Passengers on the bus then intervene, telling the driver that he just struck a female.
The bus driver responds to the teenage girl, who is laying on the ground: "Wanna be a man? I'm going to treat you like a man."
The bus driver then attempts to throw the teenager off the bus, but the girl re-boards. The scuffle continues until the two are separated by passengers.
The teenage girl then repeats the driver's phrase from earlier, telling him, "You're going to jail now."
Viewers of the graphic video have expressed mixed reactions to who is at a greater fault in the verbal and physical altercation, with some suggesting that the bus driver was completely out of line, and yet others insisting that the teen girl should have never put her hands on him.
"On a scale of one to reckless, how awful is this bus driver?!" wrote Jessica Ofor on Twitter.
Gary Lewis somewhat agreed, writing, "That bus driver hit that girl something awful and she shouldn't have hit him first."
Still, others were simply blown away by the sudden act of violence.
"Oh nooo, my mouth dropped when I saw that video of the bus driver hitting that girl, I'm still in shock," wrote one commenter on Twitter.
"That bus driver video was scary.... I'm still in shock," said another viewer.
The Greater Cleveland public transportation system, the RTA, released a more general statement Oct. 12 explaining their perspective on the incident, which occurred last month.
"RTA saw the video posted on YouTube of the operator incident on October 11. Through the investigation, we believe the incident occurred on Sept. 18. Upon identifying the driver, he was immediately suspended and removed from duty. His behavior is absolutely unacceptable. RTA apologizes to our customers for this incident. A full investigation continues," the statement reads.
To be honest, i'd say the woman got exactly what she asked for. I've seen some truly unruly passengers in my own time, that threated to get violent - by means of aggressive demeanor - with a busdriver simply for being 5 minutes late in winter. One woman ended up holding the bus up an entire 30-45 minutes before she calmed down, making everyone else late by the same time, or longer for those that had to transfer to another bus.
A couple of passengers actually called a cab after 10 minutes, which showed up immediately.
Edit: it also looked more like a hook than an uppercut, but that's just me.
Just because you lack a penis, doesn't mean you get to get in someone's face and antagonize the ***out of them or worse, punch them in the face or the like, and not expect retaliation. I know many are of the opinion that you never hit a woman and I simply don't believe that. There are circumstances where it's acceptable in my opinion.

Well, there are many definitions of a Woman, this girl clearly did not match any of them. A Woman is mature, educated, and refined. None of the latter applied in this case. Definitely female, definitely not woman.
Someone attacks you, you have every right, regardless of the attacker's gender, to whup their *** into submission - just don't go above necessity.
I don't know how I feel about this. I was taught to never hit a woman, and just in general, I've never seen violence as the best solution. That being said, she definitely should not have been putting her hands on the bus driver. Everyone should be able to feel safe, especially at work.
I imagine that there is some protocol for dealing with unruly passengers, like calling the police. It should have never escalated to the point that it did. Makes me sad for society a little.
I look at "Don't hit a woman" as "don't hit a woman first"
General respect thing. I'm not going to strike her, no matter how mad she makes me because I know that she doesn't stand a chance (same thing with a midget or something).
Once she hits me though, she obviously has 0 respect for me. How much respect does she get in return? 0, so the general respect thing goes out of the window.
Guy pisses me off enough, I can probably be provoked to swing first.
Girl pisses me off, blow it off in the name of general respect.
Girl hits me first, that's not someone I have respect for on any level, all bets are off.
She obviously antagonized the situation beyond the point of being just another unruly passenger. But that man had no "right" to punch the *** out of her face, grab her by the hair, and toss her out of the bus. The dude has radio communication on the bus for a reason, and if he had used it, he would still have a job.
To me, not hitting a girl isn't about some traditonal notion of chivalry but a matter of obvious physical differences between the sexes. That woman was no match for a punch so hard it made me flinch when I watched it. Of course, she should not have laid her hands on him, but he met that antagonism (which is admittedly hard to see in the video) with such brutal force that it became less about subduing a threat to being about beating a woman's *** because he can.

But then it becomes not about 'not hitting a woman' but instead about not hitting someone that is not a physical threat to you no? And that's crap anyway, being a woman 'and' a practiced fighter you would have to be a lot bigger than me (twice if not more) for me to be unable to hurt you significantly. Restatement, I disagree with the old "you don't hit a woman" (as a man) thing on the basis of the woman being a woman.
Yes, someone who is not a physical threat (woman, child, disabled, etc.) shouldn't be met with such force as shown in the video. There will exist exceptions, but that would be the general rule.
I believe that this is the exception, simply because she was aggresively assaulting/berating the driver of a moving vehicle. He is and has to be responsible for their safety. If he can not disarm/disable a threat to his/her passengers, or focus on the road ahead because this woman is not perceived as a threat, simply because of gender, then he is not doing his job responsibly.
After that, the argument would only then come down to the use of force and how it was executed, as well as his behaviour. Which may explain why he has been removed from service.
I still stand firm in saying the *** got what she deserved, a stunning shot to the face, and an attempt to throw her *** off the bus.
I like how she acts like she's invincible from being burnt the entire fight, then after getting hits CONTINUES to act like that then the media doesn't even mention her behavior because she's a woman.
I hate the media at times (most) and I hate ***. Seriously.

Women are victims, check your privilege, cis scum.

Oh *** that ***, a woman is the sex that has the vagooboo and not the peepee. Stop trying to say a "woman is classy but this was just a female." That's just enabling them.
How it was executed is the problem and is why he deserved to be fired. If passenger safety is a concern, then the bus should be parked (which it looks like he did) and the police called. I'm reserving judgement on whether or not she needed to be confronted at all just because it's not clear exactly what kind of physical contact she made in the video.
She deserved to be dealt with but it's hard to believe she deserved such force.
