Wii U Launch Date, Price Announced!

So Nintendo has finally released its launch information for Wii U.

Highlights ~ 2 versions, Basic ($299) and Premium ($350) to be released Nov. 18 in NA, Nov 30th in Europe, Dec 8th in Japan.
Basic version - White console, 8 GB, HDMI cable, Gamepad, Sensor Bar
Premium - Black console, 32 GB, HDMI, Sensor Bar, Gamepad, Charger + Stand, Nintendo Network Premium Subscription (online service), Nintendoland (game)

Launch Titles - New Mario, ZombiU, Rayman, Mass Effect 3, FIFA 13, CoD: BO2, NintendoLand. Nintendo also confirmed around 50 games will be releasing for the console between launch date and March, including Bayonetta 2, which will be a Wii U exclusive. Games will retail at $60. Gamepads are not sold separately.

Most surprising thing to me is the basic version only has a 8 GB HD.

They do not understand xboxs did the same thing that the user base will not care about 8g we want like 120+ to begin with if we can.That is why people modded there ps3 to hold 800g.


Great there were not mean before but i do not understand why they are putting this out only for wii u they can go xbox360 if they want or wait till xboxs puts out the new one and go both or wait for xboxs and ps3 then do all 3 i do not understand.

Because they want an exclusive "hardcore" game (and not just party games/mario or ports) so that people will have to buy the Wii U to play it

Guess that means Nintendo is in for real this time around!

My guess is that sony and microsoft is gonna come out with more powerful hardware though, so I'm not sure how much this'll change.

Nintendo is still gonna be Nintendo, while Sony and Microsoft fight for their share in the market.

Wonder if it will be sold out for a year and a half like wii was.

So are we still going to have to use 25 digit friend codes or is the Nintendo Network for real this time?

Nintendo could win my heart over with a GOOD network and a good service like XBLA or the PSN store to play old nintendo games.

Oh and an achievement or trophy system *** please. Even iPad has game center for Christ's sake.

but for the most part the console will really only ever use 1 Tablet pad, so it's not like you have to ever buy a second one

SEGA: No. First one sold like crap, we have been losing money for years, we have one foot in the grave and no one cares about us.
Nintendo: How about this, we will publish it, it will be exclusive to our new console, we pay for everything, what have you got to lose?
SEGA: Welllll...people still won't care about us.
Nintendo: We will give your whole staff a Wii U, pay your overtime, your travel expenses, and you can put your logo on it.
SEGA: On your new console?
Nintendo: No, on your new game.
SEGA: Well, ok, but only because we can put our logo on it. One Bayonetta sequel coming up.
Nintendo: Great! When can we expect it?
SEGA: 2015.

8 GB won't hold more than 2 or 3 decent sized games. Hell... I had to buy the SD card for the Wii to continue buying games on the Virtual Console....

Tech demos are almost always just that. If Nintendo had a Zelda game ready for launch, they wouldn't be keeping quiet about it >_>

I wouldn't be surprised if it was initially intended to make the opening 6 month window but got pushed back after Skyward Sword's lukewarm reception.

Also wtf, 32 gb? Better be USB or SD-expandable at the very least, but a poor move regardless. Memory is too cheap nowadays for such nonsense.

Once they release the Wii U's version of Pokemon Stadium, I shall be pleased. Just don't *** it up like the Gamecube rendition... only good part of that game was the free Ho-oh

Also Colliseum pre-orders NA version only got a bonus disc to get Jirachi.

Meh, that was the era of Gameshark. That sort of thing didn't mean much to me.

Meh I only cheated on my emulator even Pokemon White. But getting a legitimate Black version for my 3DS XL. GAME UK is giving out a fateful encounter Keldeo for download =)

Edit: I even managed to get Desmume (PC emulator) to connect to the Pokemon Network. It actually Wifi battle's and trades online.
