Regardless of the events or how much you play, there's a few good ones:

1) Set rules for every situation that could come up, then follow them. The less biased decisions are, the better.
2) Set reasonable expectations - if it's voidwatch or sky or whatever, have a goal, accomplish it, then call it a day. Don't let events go on for 12 hours. Even if you want to play for 12 hours, break it up into smaller chunks.
3) Figure out what people want, and plan a schedule. If you just pick events at "random", you will end up with some people getting their stuff done all the time.
4) Have officers you trust. General guide is one officer per 5-10 people. Events should always have at least two officers present.
5) Kill drama asap. Make sure you know everything that's going on.

There's lots of forum posts all over the web about mmo guilds - many of them from long time groups. The more work you put into a group, the better it will be.

Oh, a few more ...

1) Do research. Wiki, here, BG, etc., know what you're up against. Don't walk into events blind. Failure at an event really kills morale.
2) Keep logs of everything, keep track of who got what at least to some degree. It'll help you know who's getting the most rewards from the group's efforts.

You can dew eet!

Importantly, You need to be able to remain calm through anything to be a good leader OP. Learn how to understand people and learn how to convey things exactly the way the situation needs. Even the most skilled leader will fail a shell quickly if he can't comprehend management basics and how to work each person to their full potential.

It's about balancing a group flawlessly more than anything. As for empys and +2, every single step and +2 can be soloed in some form, it doesn't take a linkshell for that stuff. But if you show people warmth, respect, intelligence, maturity and charisma they will flock to you and follow you to the ends of vanadiel. That is the type of shell that becomes great friends and will never fall apart.
funny i understand that for the fact that is why i follow the people who made this shell.
