Almace offhand advice
I'm working on an Almace, I have the lvl 80 version (yay!), and I need to work on sobek skins for the actual functional version. My current setup is lvl 99 STR magian sword in main hand, and lvl 99 occasionally attacks twice trial sword in the offhand (this was very expensive and time consuming to make lol). I'm conflicted and unsure of which sword to offhand when I get my almace completed. The STR sword adds extra attack and damage to my WSs AND spells. But the OAT sword makes TPing faster, so I can get faster CDCs. Is it a situational thing, like if I want to do more spells, I switch to STR, but if I'm doing melee more I want OAT, or should I stick with one or the other? Any advice?
Believe there is a topic in here that explains that due to the delay of the OAT sword it is inferior in DoT over time and the WS frequency doesn't significantly make up for it. Personally I use Str/att in offhand.
Edit: My bad, it was discussed in the rdm melee gear topic found here. Main issue is the Dmg:Delay and the fact that DA/TA gear/traits will overwrite the OAT of the sword (IE: QA>TA>DA>OAX weapon is the proc priority) of which blu can get a rather substantial TA/DA rate going without a need for an OAT weapon which causes the Str/Att TOM sword to come out ahead due to the Dmg:Delay ratio being Higher:Lower than the OAT sword. Echoing what Kaliyah said. If you have the current relevant BLU tp gear and spells set (or something close), you're getting plenty of attacks per round to not justify using the OAT sword over STR.
No need to build OAT/DA sword. Just stick with STR sword.
