Just occurred to me how badly I want the answer to what possible rationale they have to make Confrontation status despawn pets and why it's been "needed from the start". It's just an annoyance similar to pets despawning when zoning, except the JA timer isn't as likely to be up every time.

I payed 200-300k for a stack of the new turtle, just to try it out. I haven't played much on BST...but for a pet like that...I don't want to feel restricted for the hour or how ever long the pet lasts...the new ones last at least 2 hours now (i think the sheep is one of them) or there is people like me who have a middle of the road view on aby, liked how gear didnt take forever in a day to get gear, however the overpowering nature of atma and cruor buffs could have been toned down a bit something more akin to atmacites(though they still got that a bit wrong)
SE really should start listening to the people more.

i would like to be able to zone with my jug pets but i could care less since i craft most of my stuff so it doesnt cost much when i lose one...as far as dynamis goes..people still do dynamis? ....

They don't "need" to rebalance anything to make a PvP on/off command or a duel option. Most people just want to fight their friends, and LS mates. Regardless of whether you wanted it for that option or if you wished to battle random people it's very simple. If someone is on a *** cheaty job you simply decline to fight them, or suggest they change to a different job more suitable for an even fight. Personally I wouldn't care wtf job they were on considering the stagnant nature of the PvE in XI. It would just be a nice change of pace. It's not as if people running around telling everyone how WTFBBQ they are at PvP yet they only ever duel on Rdm,Blu, or Paladin would not quickly gain a reputation as a massive tool. Same as morons catch a bad rap now for sucking at VW. Gimme "unbalanced" PvP that is uncapped, and accessible in any zone you find normal mobs, and I will gladly take my chances against w/e job combos. I think what they are going to change is not the jug time but rather the NM pop issue in Dynamis. As it is right now whenever a new NM is popped all pets disappear. Might not seem like a major issue, but if you are popping several NMs in a row with a group, 1 new jug every pop isn't very nice.

Not sure if its been resolved for that but when it first came out I went as bst with some smns and we all lost pets. I haven't done VW in months. You really dont want this. they could even make it "only party members with the pvp icon clicked can engage one another" so it can't be exploited competing for a NM. everyone else would see "You cannot attack that target. the Josiahkf is claimed." if not in party etc 1. option to ignore duel requests to avoid spam 2. leaving zone will automatically remove hostile mode 3. can't attack mobs/nms it's not that hard to code really >.>, i'm glad ff14 will have all these pvp features on patch 2.0 |
