Cancelling Follow With Macros
Anyone know if this is possible?

That just may work, fine citizen. However if there is an option to accomplish said task without the use of heal, I'm still all i dont get it, why is this important?
just blink with a dummy equip swap?

You ask that now, then the time comes where life may or may not hinge on this macro and you are left staring at yourself in the mirror, debilitated, phlegmatic, forsaken. Wondering where it all went wrong. Leviathan.Laphine said: » just blink with a dummy equip swap? BlinkMeNot is in use, so not sure if that would work. if you are hitting a macro to stop, that requires 2 button presses.
if you press/tap the button/joystick to make you walk backwards, you stop ? well if thats the case then chances are you better be paying attention anyway. that and what misao said.

You dont need a macro for that. Would auto following yourself cancel out a follow to another pc?

Sure, but when trying to control an alternate character through macros on your main character, switching over to tap the button/joystick backwards is what I'm trying to avoid. Basically just looking for a way to toggle follow on|off through a macro, but there seems to be no command to cancel follow. /automove?
(obviously not online to test it) What about emotes that cause your character to actually do a motion? I thought /follow cancelled the follow.
are you doing alt control macros from your main? if this is so i dont think there is much you can do. Alt tab hit 7 on numb pad is what i do.
Aside from kneel or following someone else i dont know how else to break follow. I know if you initiate a macro before another macro finishes, it forces the first macro to stop and the second to begin. Give us a specific situation I say, and let us brain storm.
doing emotes while moving, wont activate the emote animation, it will just display in chatlog
i think the issues is most actions either get cancelled do to movement and follow still takes place. i dual box but just alt tab never seemed to have issues. i notice though even if your casting or /ja follow will still happen after w/e you did cancels or completes itself.
Bahamut.Krizz said: » I thought /follow cancelled the follow. I don't think so. If you look at lists for text commands, it usually states when a command toggles something on and off. However /follow just says "Automatically follows the current target.". I don't know what you can and can't execute, but lock-on and auto-run are basically the same as follow, and auto-run can be disabled.
again could try having a macro that is /follow enteryouraltname here
this may have your alt toon try to follow himself breaking the follow command on your main idk if it'll work though. Aside from kneel or following someone else i dont know how else to break follow. Trying to make it an actual macro I have on my main. I play from my couch with a wireless controller on a computer hooked up to a big screen TV and always look for ways to NOT have to have my keyboard on my lap. So if there is a way to do this with a macro/controller only, I'm lookin' for it. Bahamut.Enkidou said: » Bismarck.Markas said: » i dont get it, why is this important? You can set up blinkmenot to only avoid blinking when you are in combat or whatever. Example, I use bmn always all You can opt to you bmn always target and you will blink but not your target. Bmn really has a lot of options. Phoenix.Lillicarnage said: » /sit works Doesn't /sit also aggro as if it was /heal? If not that would be awesome. |
