Any good RPG suggestions for current gen?
A good game on Playstation game is is Legend of Legaia (wish it would be released on PSN).
I know Lost Odyssey was mentioned, but man that game gives me a ***.
Square needs to look at that game on how to do combat, story and characters. It just takes such a giant poo on anything that have released in a long time. Oh and those live stories you can watch are mostly very well written, with great sound effects and visuals. God damn I love that game. EDIT: BTW the guy who made Lost Odyssey (He also left Square after working on all of their good games basically) has a game coming out in a few weeks called The Last Story. Here are the reviews for the JP sites: The game received a score of 38/40 in Famitsu magazine, with two critics giving the game 10/10 and two giving the game 9/10.[29] The Last Story topped the Japanese charts, with 114,722 units in its first week - which also includes sales of a version that comes bundled with a Wii system.[32] The UK's Edge Magazine gave the game a score of 8/10 in their April 2011 issue (#E226).[28] Bordersdown gave it a score of 8/10, praising the story, system and voice acting, while noting its simplicity.[30] But why the Wii :( Come on. I haven't given up on the current gen was just stating that the genre in a whole has changed. Not in a bad way just a change. For instance there was a time when RPGs weren't categorized by what region it was developed in.(WRPG and JRPG) Now there's sub genre's which is great and gives a great diversity in the genre as a whole.
Lost Odyssey was a good game forgot to mention that one. As for more current games: Dragon Quest IX Fable III Eternal Sonata Tales of Vesperia Persona 4 Bastion I really hope Xenoblade Chronicles comes out to US shores soon. The trailer gives the most palpable level of excitement and awe.

Ive been following the game for quite some time now. Watching the trailers in japanese regardless of not understanding the language still gave me shivers. The characters felt so surreal....I heard its getting a euro release or was that UK? The UK trailer i think was in english. Im curious if wii is region free, if yes i may import. Lost Odyssey was pretty great, never got around to finishing it though. As for the Wii: the older ones are hackable to be region free fairly easy and don't lose functionality, you can even change it to where it ignores when discs or the internet try to do an update and it still works. I've had Xenoblade Chronicles for a month now (subbed) this way (friend had it for longer, copied it). (not saying to pirate but it will give you the functionality you want by hacking it, plus then you can put emulators on it and with a classic controller /amazing). as for Legend of Legaia there, amazing game. Not sure if anyone has mentioned it but Skies of Arcadia was an awsome RPG. It was for Dreamcast and i wish they would remake it for new systems or make a #2 reallllly liked that game glad i got to play it while dreamcast was still around.

He exist for Gamecube, so that can work in a Wii ![]() Is it the same as dreamcast version or no i see it says legends not sure what that means.
Its the exact same version but with some new content bonus, like a gold/goty version
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skies_of_Arcadia Quote: 24 new discoveries are in Legends. These are scattered throughout the game and reduce the difficulty somewhat as they act as a very large source of income for the player.[...] did anyone mention Enslaved: Odyssey to the West? It's a nice/good "jrpg" if you get into the characters/story.
Pokemon Black and White are great too. They made some nice astetic changes to the series. Pokemon move in battle, season change, the cityscapes have a great amount of detail and scale, and they finally put the mart and poke enter in the same building lol.
Rpgamer has a great best of 2011 list that has a bunch of categories to find what you might like from this current generation of consoles as well as handhelds, downloadables, and remakes. http://www.rpgamer.com/awards/2011/ If you liked Zelda a link to the past, a French team recently developed a series, its a free game (PC), you can download it here
http://www.zelda-solarus.com/index.php http://www.zelda-solarus.com/jeu-zsdx-english ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Zelda (while a great game and ALTTP is my fav), it isn't a rpg...
Not sure if this game is considered an RPG it's basically an action platformer with RPG elements. It's not finished but it's amazingly fun regardless.

For past year through I have been messing with Loong here and there. recently Loong has under gone a massive upgrade which is still a little buggy, but in the process of being fixed. Loong has great feel and plays through rather smoothly. although community, GM, and technical support have been lacking for the last year, it has been supremely beefed up. As well, players/GMs alike have began to provide Nice guilds on the forums. The aspect I enjoy outside of the graphics and game play are the diversity in building your character and gear. Talents and Skill points can be combined in a plethora of ways. Loong's gear focus relies heavily on dungeons and crafting skills. As well, gear has a wide variation of quality. The Mount/Pet system in Loong is also very advanced. Travel between areas is very accessible and affordable. Many Free to Play games have a huge gap between payee, and those who choose not to spend real life money. This one has a small one but it is not massive enough to make or break a player. I tend to toss $5 - $20 at the most at it with in a month and remain rather competitive. Real Life money is primarily spent on convenience items and therefore does not disrupt non-payee players. Browsing through the forums will help a lot in Loong. As well, make sure not to just fast click the quest boxes: As lv 1-50 have extremely vital information for understanding the game. But you will still need to forums to work it all out. Here is where you can download it and sign up. Both are free. And since much of the information is stored client side the game downloads/updates rather quick and easy. Download/Sign-up Guides Feel Free to PM Otomis in game or here (*^.^*) Muramasa: The Demon Blade is pretty fun, though it's a 2D vertical hack-slash with RPG elements to it. It's by the same folks who did Odin Sphere. Hand painted, etc. It's quite stunning.
I edited my post with one actually.
