Since you're making a topic about this I'll just add this information with it:

Relic +2 Enhancments

Head: Assassin's Bonnet +2
Adds "Enhances 'Aura Steal' effect"

Body: Assassin's Vest +2
Adds "Enhances 'Ambush' effect"

Hands: Assassin's Armlets +2
Adds "Enhances 'Perfect Dodge' effect"

Legs: Assassin's Culottes +2
Adds "Enhances 'Feint' effect"

Feet: Assassin's Poulaines +2
Adds "Enh. 'Assassin's Charge' effect"

None of them are a 'waste of time'. Every piece in the game is entirely situational. These are no exception. What it boils down to is how elite do you want to be?

Depends on how you define situational.

Dream Bells (+1), the best piece of equipment when you want to jingle all your foes away! Completely situational!

the feet are just so sexy

When gear is totally outclassed by other gear for every conceivable useful purpose and situational usage becomes "Being inferior," it's pretty safe to say that the piece is a waste of time.


Waste of time unless the Aura Steal is important or it somehow makes Mug useful. Aias Bonnet gives you more stats at the cost of -.5 acc


This could be very close with Loki's Kaftan if it gives better critical damage, but I doubt that. Otherwise Loki's will win with higher stats.

The rate+ is nice, but only useful for Evisceration which will be used less and less with Exenterator. Relegates this to an Abyssea piece.


TH only. AF3+2 are better acc hands, Slither are better eva hands.

The idiots saying otherwise on the item page are probably just butthurt cuz they full time the regular piece already.


Useless unless you're absolutely suffering for accuracy, N. Legs are superior for Evisceration and Rudra.

Whirlwind Dirs win on Mercy. Denali+5 wins for Exenterator.


This is something that might actually be useful. If you can stomach the -15 attk and -25.5 acc hit from losing Ryuga feet and AF3+2 hands, using these with Dusk Gloves would probably result in a overall net gain for DPS.

You dont have to use dusk gloves. Brego Gloves FTW. 5str, 5agi, 9acc, 4haste, NO GRAVITY EFFECT.

The determination on the 'usefulness' will depend on the things we dont know yet. Whats the tripld atk damage bonus? Whats the crit damage bonus? Whats the Aura steal/mug/feint/perfect dodge/etc etc enhancements on the augmented +2s?

Until we know what it all does, we cant rule them out.

The Def on the hands is trash

Reports are saying vest has Crit. damage +3%, so it's not too useful.

They're also saying assassin's bonnet lets aura steal dispel 2 effects, although the log will still only show one...so it's pretty much a must-have for all THFs.

how would the relic+2 feet compete vsheca1 or scoupli nails (sp)

As someone who has 5/5 in Aura Steal and really loves it, I'm going to say it's not a must-have. It's nice, and it'll help dispelling the effect you really want gone, but the fact that its on a 5 minute timer really makes it lose its utility.

Ideally these. It's what I'm aiming for anyways.

any info on what all this enhances stuff does? cant find anything :s

BG has an explanation for most all that I've looked up. Have to look at the individual item's page, but here's a link to the +2 set.
