The addendum: white/black bonus on af3+2 body is still an enigma as it is :( Able to cast 2 spells with 2 merits, 3 with 3, etc.

I'm curious how this will effect Troubadour and Nightingale. The base effect of each was pretty awesome. The only reason you kept upgrading them is because Sirvente and Dirge just aren't worth wasting a song slot on.

They probably took a look at the most popular merits on the Census and thought to themselves "Hey, what could we do to make people completely change from X to Y, thus creating more of a time sink?"

Diffusion + level 5 = double duration of buffs plz (yes I want hastega so I can be lazy with my dual box RDM).

not sure double duration would be enough to justify fully meritting diffusion. I suppose you would rid the need of a haste mage in small man situations and possibly get by just with a blu but you would be giving up other merits for it which seems like a bad trade off i think(consider at 99 you can /rdm and have haste in said situations where you are being used for support spells)

Seems very hard to balance Probably "increases triple attack damage", an attack bonus, or the like.

This adjustments have a lot of potential, yet at the same time, could get a great inbalance to a lot of the unlockable JAs...either way, much more than i expected them to tweak said JAs.

Won't be. At most, 1 merit in this sort of situation would be somewhat justified for situational buffs to party members. Completely dropping enchainment won't be worth the merits unless the buffs receive some form of potency increase on top of increased duration.

You know i was referring outside abyssea right? Also, certain races and jobs get a certain HP and MP boost outside abyssea.

I think they're laughing about you being off by a factor of 10.
12K = 12,000 > 1,200
15K = 15,000 > 1,500

so basically they are giving us new merits and just handing us the old one for free (well one merit)
more baby mode
couldn't they just add the increased effect in a group 3 or something more merits to used and make strategy about would be more fun more content and NOT just keep handing ppl stuff for free.
or add it next to the decreasing effect of recasting. so you still need 5 for lowest recast
i mean free is boring...
soon you will start the game at level 99 with all merits full and all gear and a cutscene that tells you you completed the game. *yawn*

Jesus, they announce something to make an entire group of merits better across the board, for everyone, and you find a way to complain because you think it's "easy mode."
Why don't you go push a boulder up a mountain or something, if you want a challenge. The rest of us will take the new merits that will most likely revolutionize the way many jobs' merit spreads are decided.

Probably alter the amount of TP given (or reduce the amount taken away), and for the latter, increase the accuracy of or alter something else about the plague effect.

| Greetings! I have some information to pass along in regards to the merit point adjustments! We looked into both groups 1 and 2 of the merit points and decided to make the following adjustments:
Group 1 As the first step we take, we’ll be reviewing point increases.
Group 2 - Abilities with an increased effect from the second step on
We have no plans for adjustments for now.
- Abilities with a shorter recast time from the second step on
We plan on adjusting these abilities so that their effects are increased with each step, instead of having their recast time shortened with each step. The recast time that has been shortened up to the fifth step will be used.
The following are adjustments that do not deal with the effects of merit points.
The below examples are for ease of reference.
Ex 1: Devotion is raised to the fifth step
Before: The recast time is shortened from 20 minutes to 10 minutes
↓
After: Increased MP recovery
*The recast time is fixed at 10 minutes Ex 2: Sange is raised to the fifth step
Before: The recast time is shortened from 15 minutes to 5 minutes
↓
After: Shadow images are no longer consumed
*The recast time is fixed at 5 minutes
*We are considering adding new shuriken
- Other
If the above adjustments do not solve all of the problems, we'll look into adjusting the effects themselves.
Upon further development and consideration, the adjustments may change, but for now we plan on making the above adjustments. We will let you know when we decide on the details. |
