Voidwatch is failed content how? Because you need more than 3 people to do it and you can't force a near 100% drop?
It suffers the "evolith syndrome", aka amazing ideas plagued by horrible implementation.

A point system would be nice so you can buy overpriced rare items that drop from VW.

Would be close to a campaign system almost.

failed when a person can get the same gear drop 10/20 runs while another person on same 20 runs will get nothing but ore and wood. Then e got stuff like evolith panktretron choco raceing and im sure few others the not coming to mind right now that get basicly no use sicne first implemented. Oh and lets not forget Woe here only 2 zones ever get done and only one those outside jp prime times.

Apparently you haven't done Voidwatch or you're suffering from Stockholm's.

Like einherjar's too. I'd always rather work toward something than have a chance to get it 1/1 but then most likely go 1/79 or see a person who already has it get the next 4 of them.

Once this content is older, how are we going to get groups set up for it? If you take 18 people as an ls to a nm with the intention of getting a single person a new item and then spend all freaking night doing it but never get one for them... Just isn't a good system.

This!

I would actually do these stupid events if there was some goal in sight. Einherjar was a great system for that.

Nope, never done it.
When I'm active (not now, exams :/) was doing it about 3 times a week (4 fights each .. so about 90 minutes of my time) and I've completed over half of my VW wishlist. Bodies and ***, they're supposed to be rare yo.

Oh, and I don't regret any of the time I spent doing those fights, because they were fun regardless of the reward. People cry too much.

Congratulations on getting lucky? I have a Heka's Kalasiris (Akvan yo) myself and that doesn't change the fact that the loot system is terrible and has discouraged enough people to force some into quitting and server shouts to only occasionally set up runs. SE had momentum going after Abyssea and yet again they show they have no idea how to keep fans interested in playing the game.

I wanna help some friends get loot? Oh wait, I can't cause SEs loot system IS CUTTING EDGE LOOT DISTRO if we're to take the developers seriously. Nope, can't take them serious.

This is the premier content for crying out loud and barely anyone's doing it if you were to take my server's activity as any example.

I think ive said enough times that SE has little logic and has been quite effective in getting people to play other games rather than this one. Drops don't need to be lowman and it also doesn't need to be 100% drop but it does need to not rely on a dice roll which is what VW is.

Statistics. Plus, right now, it isn't too hard to get a VW group together because so many people need it. Eventually shouts are going to taper off and even if you can get your ls to do it, they aren't going to want to do it THAT much if you suddenly become unlucky. It might be fun but some people have done way more than they should to get these and yet still haven't gotten them. At that point, it isn't fun any more, particularly when you get taunted by the drops others get who can't even use it.

Just a little tip to anyone, just because you think you may not need some of this gear, don't ever toss it, you may level a job, or it may become worthwhile for a new ws or spell. Just keep it, store it stick it on a mule, anything else is just doing your future self a disservice. Once this content gets old, no one is going to want to do it 10, 20 or 60 times so you can get it. Screw the dice... Seriously.

I kind of like the loot distribution system, because if there are only 10 people online at the time, we can grab 8 random friendslist people, or 8 random idiots from Jeuno and proceed as usual.

I'm not asking to change the base system, You can keep your own chest and if you want the item, you can keep it and just stay silent if you want but the ability to place an unneeded piece that is just going to be lost, in to the pool for someone else to get is not going to do any harm at all to anyone, LS wise, shout wise or anything.

Even if the overall drop rate is decreased by a medium amount, it will still result in more total usable items for any group.

Edit:

They already stated 'add to lootpool' could be abused by linkshells selling gear to people and that is why it wasn't going to be added.

At least if they could do something like, an item you already have can't be rolled into your box, similar to how it is if you were to fight a mob with a certain item that everyone in your pt had, it just wouldn't drop.

But in this case it would just be re-rolled into someone else box instead of your's.

You could still sell alliance slots. Capitalism will always find a way.

Just like you can still sell VW stuff. Just have to have the person in the ally and they get a box regardless of if they do anything. Just think they are being really hard headed and stubborn about this for little benefit of anyone. Plus, why do they care if people sell r/ex. That's an in-game economy boost and back when they did that survey they actually had that as an option.

Just genuinely confused why they are so desperate to make our lives as much of a pain in the arse as possible.

There is no way Voidwatch will get old... How many empyrians are out there? 1500 plates a empy... The main problem is that people can't all gather together for these events with all the right classes to proc properly all at one time.

Wait wait, so.. are they saying that the VW caskets will have more treasures per person depending on the amount of people in the alliance? Or that the more people you have, the better your chances of seeing rare treasure?

Or am I reading too far into it, and it's just the same amount per person, which just equals "more total treasure" the more people you have? Which would make no difference since you can't trade or put in treasure pool.

Your reading too far into it

The more people you have the more treasure there is because there are more bodies to get the useless junk out of the chest.

Say 1 person gets 5 pieces of junk, if there are 18 people that's 90 drops per fight.

All they are saying is that if you add together how much loot each person in the alliance is getting from the chest, that's a hell of a lot more loot than the mob could drop if it was all going into the treasure pool.
