I used to smoke hella weed. I got older, got a family to provide for, and a good job that does random tests, so I quit.

Weed never stopped me from being a contributing member of society. Weed never influenced me to do anything I would not have already done sober. Weed never cost me a job, gave me any health problems, etc. Weed just chilled me out and helped me sleep. I miss it, but I have too many responsibilities in my life to risk it now.

I have found though, that drugs make a fantastic scapegoat for lazy and mentally damaged individuals to pin blame on when they lack the tools to take their place as an adult in society.

EDIT: The more I think on it, I don't really miss smoking weed. It was fun when I was in my 20's, but I like being sober and focused on getting things done in my life now, and FF is really, really hard for me to play while high. I just don't have time for weed anymore.

Yeah, I am all for the green stuffs, but this "helping lungz" statement is a little far-fetched. It may not be as harmful as cigs or cigars, but your still taking in smoke. Thats like saying alcohol helps to regenerate the liver. If we are gonna support Mary Jane, lets prove that we can bring some facts to the table. lol

I am 26 with a sweet job and no kids. Damned if I dont toke up every now and again. Cause I know when I settle down, there can be no more bluntz and beers on back to back weekends. Enjoying while I can. lol

I find that there are annoying smokers and smokers that are really cool to hang out with. It varies per person.

alcohol and many other things like Mj can be use for better things, but it is because of the abuse and mis-use of these things that makes it frown upon.

some people use it because of medical needs, alright np, but someone going. "ahmahgawd it is used for medical uses, it needs to be legal, yet I dont want it for medical uses but rather fly the rainbow with nyan-cat" is just... dumb :/

Not really illegal because of abuse, if that were the case, alcohol would still be illegal. I mean....how many times have people died when alocohol was being used; much less abused?

And the idea of using a substance for recreation isnt a foreign concepts. Hookahs, alocohol and even the occasional encent. Even if we dont consider the medical implications its still absurd that its illegal.

Enjoy it, because holy hell it goes by fast. You'll blink and all of a sudden be in your 30's with a family, and just realized you haven't partied with your friends in months. Life is crazy like that.

Usually it's newbies. The age group has a lot to do with it too. New smokers have to blab on and on about how high they are. Experienced smokers might make a funny comment or two, but most of the time you can barely tell they're even high.

People that get high to fit in or look cool are the most annoying. Those who do it because they just enjoy it are most of the time just regular, cool people.

Sorry to tell you guys but this topic is a dead end as many have said. It will go both ways all day. While some of you think it is a good and does nothing bad to you, you are wrong. Smoking anything will always pose some kinda threat to your health. Memory loss (Short or long term)? Sorry, I think that must be person to person. Really, all I've read here about your personal experiences and from friends that had used it are silly. And it's people like that who give pot a bad image. Like people that can't hold there liquor. It effects people very differently. It has a lot of good uses for medical purposes and when looked at as a recreational drug has less harmful effects than stuff we see in our house since we are kids and continue to do with our own children. Things like alcohol which are kept in the fridge for all to see, and kids go in there looking for food all the time. By it being in there you show them it's ok. Cigarettes which are smoked out in the open and bystanders having to inhale that 2nd hand smoke. So if you are gonna hate weed or have anything to say about it, maybe you should look at all the other stuff first and compare them to it. Also the trend of smoking weed is starting to pass slowly. With shops opening for medical marijuan in many states, people that shy away from it because they don't want to smoke it have been eating it. People have been making everything with it from lollipops and microwaveable popcorn to drinks and oils for cooking. And eating it is much more healthy than smoking it.

Bear in mind folks that though substance will have a generalized effect on the body, the way people react to these substances will vary person to person and thus are quite subjective.

In May here, a man was driving wildly down our main street in town, cops chasing him, he was swerving all over the road. He blew through an intersection, knocked down a telephone pole, ran over an 18 year old boy, killing him, and then into a building where he went through the walls and into offices with many people in them. The ONLY substance found in his system, was pot. If it makes you out of control enough to kill people and turn into a maniac because you want to be "high", then it should obviously be illegal. Enough said.

But it's funny you say that cause not that long ago they found this guy that cured AIDS and resolved world hunger and single handedly ended the war in the middle east and resolved our oil and energy crisis along with unemployment, and the only substance they found in his body was pot.
If such a substance can make you perform miraculous feats, then it should obviously be legal.

I see your logic, but what if that man had been on perscription drug. Or better yet, alcohol. Cause that happens just about everyday on the "fire water" and the pillz. Why are you not all for making those illegal?

You do know that if the stuff is sold as a recreation drug, it would become a very lucrative business (much like cigs) and create more jobs and will be very taxable. As well as cutting down some of the litigations and enforcment costs which burden a good portion of our tax dollars.

Sounds like you dont like people altering their OWN minds responsibly. Unfortunatley current lawmakers share your lust for trying to control what I do in my free time responsibly.
